ever party on a boat cruise during the tailend of a hurricane? well it's tons of fun! we had about 200 people come out and we all danced up a storm for 3 hours. the floor of the boat was literally bouncing up and down and it reminded me of titanic, just before the windows caved in! hahahaha!

suffice to say, it's been quite a trip down drama avenue. i lost my half my voice and now ames says i sound like a really bad sex operator who's been smoking for 55 years. i've had a total of 7 hrs from monday to thursday morning, PLUS during the olympiad tuesday morning, we ALL got SOAKED to the skin and didn't have anything to dry off in so needless to say....GOOD TIMES!

so this is the end of frosh forever...this is it. the last frosh where i handle hassles of no show leaders, of endless registration, of endless bickering and drama and stressed out coordinators and marshals. it's kind of sad, really...i'm already nostalgic but i guess it'll really show next year.

school's begun....yet again. i went to my only class today, and although it's going to be ALOT of WORK...it's something i'm really interested, mainly variation within language. i'm working with professor sali tagliamonte again (i had her for LIN254), and she's pretty awesome with this stuff. the class is also very small so it's very personal and lots of discussions with the group. i love starting new classes...it's when the marks come rolling in that gets me less motivated. hahahaha, oh well, seven more months and i'm out of here!

ever been to a pub at york? well we'll see how this situation goes!

can you believe i still run into people that think that the english language should be standardized and that there are people who refuse to believe that language variation occurs and does in fact, exist?

maaaaan. . . it's frustrating, i tells ya.

oh my GOD. Sali Tagliamonte?? You're kidding, it is a small world. SHe's Awesome, I worked on a research course with her all year in second year, she was great, and she gave me an A to boot! Say Hi to her for me.
