i missed the oscars last night because of rehearsal...it was 10 hrs long!!! i'm starting to get really frazzled about the music, i still have so much to go over...and less the two weeks! *sigh* i don't like pressure, but i guess without that, i'd be doing nothing.

oh right, so the oscars. apparently i didn't miss much, seeing as i checked out the red carpet pictures when i got home. is it me or were the dresses really blah this year? it was either all black or really pale, and some of the girls just didn't have the boobs for their dresses. the ONLY dress that i really really liked was the red dress emmy rossum wore. that's it. that's all i liked.

anyway, i think mark gave me the cold, i woke up with a sore throat. i should get ready for a gram meeting that i'm most definitely going to be late for...

soooooooo incredibly tired. yet why am i still awake? i'm actually not sure why...i figured i'd just post a little sumthin sumthin and then be on my way to sleep land.

i got a test back today. i thought i had done horrible on it, seeing how i had spent a total of only 18 hours at starbucks cramming for the test two weeks ago. so the prof walks into class today 20 mins late (only at u of t people) and announces that she has our tests, that they've been marked, except that she hadn't finished recording them in her book. fine. so she lectures briefly and then sticks a movie in so that she can finish recording our marks. great. and then she comes back in and tells us all that she has our tests and everyone can get them back but only people from A-G would have their mark and grade and everyone else would get them next week or see her to get the marks. seeing as my name begins with an M, i picked up my test and went to see her. looking at the marks in just the short answers section, it didn't look very encouraging. but i was watching her write my mark and grade upside down....an A-. CRAZY. unbelievable. so the gist of this story? i'm a happy camper! ;p celebrated with smoothies! hahaha.

the dao is chilling-ly

And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
When I come to call she won't forsake me
I'm loving angels instead

- Robbie Williams' Angels

after watching the brit awards last night, i fell in love with this song. i love brits, they are so cute. except that some of them (like franz ferdinald) are sooo thin, i couldn't date someone that thin, i might squash them or something! (disclaimer: joseph didn't count because we didn't go out for very long!)

anyway, it's snowing yet again. and i'm tired. so off to sleep i go.

reading week was a complete waste of time. all i did was eat, watch lots of movies, eat, see people, and did i mention eat? ugh. and now i'm looking at my calendar again (which i haven't looked at in awhile) and suddenly i realize that i need to get my act on with my chinese philosophy assignment (which i haven't a clue what i'm going to be doing it on) and oooooh, i'm sooooooo incredibly screwed music-wise as i haven't touched the piano in a long time and we should all know that that is a big "no-no".

in other news, here are two websites that are definitely worth checking out:
ames this is my sister's new website address, and she just did a trip back down memory lane of her past web layouts, they are awesome! so pretty!

the phat conductor this guy, dylan is in my chinese philosophy class. he does some pretty cool breaks, and he gives his music away for free!

i should go play some piano now (like it'll do me any good...)

it is currently 5:15pm on a thursday evening and the professor has not put up the lecture notes to our 6pm class. this sucks!

in other exciting news, this has definitely been a fun filled week (literally from last thursday) with the abbey reunion that actually took place saturday evening! the witkos bus came around to everyone's houses and fayewood picked up me and karen. i think we had reservations to jack astors but since we were late (surprise surprise!) we gave up our time slot and ended up at shoeless joes. hahaha. what a ghetto place. i don't recommend the veggie burger (it was a bit dry) but the nachos were good! then we wanted to go to demetres but it was full, and so was just desserts, so we finally ended up at tim hortons! what a way to go...you know you're old when you chill with your buddies at a coffee shop. no one really wanted to go clubbing or anything. hahahaha....we're getting so old!

i have been seeing other old friends that i have met over the past four years here, with ms. bozek being #1 on the list. hahaha. considering how she goes to osgoode which is literally 7 mins from my house, we are pretty sad to only be catching up NOW. we went to york lanes and had some really soggy soup (?) and then she took me to her building that has no windows...hahaha. i hear wongie is back, so it would be nice to have a get together with holly and tee sometime.

ian himself has been back from australia since the end of december, so it was nice to chill with him at uc's jcr for a bit on monday. i like the updates, and it's really nice to have an idea of what to expect if i go to australia next year (lachlan, don't get your hopes up yet!!!) and today i met up with mel d'souza for coffee which in itself is funny because we originally met up at starbucks, but there were no seats so we went to second cup where she bought a muffin she didn't like and i was drinking starbucks! hahahaha. i am SOOOO boycotting second cup. they don't know how to make soy chai lattes.

oooh, another fun event i went to tuesday night. matt had a showing of one of his short films at this media promotion event, and shelley and i went to see it with him at the drake hotel. the atmosphere was really nice, clean and spruced up. and there were three screens set up in a room so you could see the films at three different angles. at the centre was a stage where there was a guy who did the music and noise for the films by blowing on some keyboard thingy or playing the accordian or strumming a guitar. basically they are introducing films and songs with some crazy instruments that require lots of wires. ??? hahahaha. needless to say, that definitely took up my tuesday night!

wednesday night i went to see some fellow chess members perform in a one act play called "check please." victor and i went specifically to see their show, and luckily it was the first of four one act plays so we jetted after their show. kevin and shannon had some of the best parts ever! hahaha, i'm not going to disclose their characters as they are performing them again tonight and tomorrow night, and it's so much more fun if you go to see them perform at the william doo theatre in the new new college building (85 wilcox).

tonight after lecture (which the notes are still not put up for...) there is a bachelor/bachelorette auction for valentine's day. i personally am not for these things, i don't see a point in auctioning people off, by putting a price on them. but hey if people think they are fun, good for them! since my aileen is going to MC the "show" i will be going to see the ruckus as well as seeing how the bakesale goes! ;p

and then i will have to get some work done...HA. oh mu, if only our paper was on immortality and not on nancy cruzan i would be so much more happier. but needless to say, this essay should be done tomorrow so i can get cracking on an upcoming test! =:o

as for the musical, i think it is going well, but i will have more of an update on that after reading week. hahahaha, they key here is that i spend alot of my reading week practicing so that after reading week i will be set! i will know ALL the songs. hahahaha. KEY.

kk, so off to class i go...
