i went to a rehabilitation orientation at the university center, and i'm looking forward to playing for the geriatric ward. the coordinator was so excited when she found out that i teach piano. hahaha, i'll never get away from playing piano...

hahahahaha...what was i thinking when i said a couple posts back that i'd have so much time on my hands and nothing to do? well, as immanuel said to me today "i'm too busy socializing!" that being said, it's great to see immanuel, i don't see him enough! i love catching up...all i do is chatter away...hahahaha!

it's true, it's so bad, but i'm having friends asking me out to go places but i'm having such a hard time keeping track of what and when, that i've been forced to bust out a mini-calendar to keep me on track (yes, you all know the purple/orange notebook that i use during the year...i was trying to steer clear of THAT! that's heavy duty organizing!) maybe i should just post an online calendar and people can fill in their own time slots! ;p

georges is planning a bbq at the house he's sitting for, and we met up yesterday, and man...i haven't seen that boy in AGES!!!!! since before the end of exams?!?!?! i went to japan, he went to guadeloupe...and now we're BACK! whoo! i forgot how much fun we are when we get together! soooo.....bbq friday!

But you gotta make choices, be wrong or right,
Sometimes you've got to sacrifice the things you like,
But I was born to try

- delta goodrem

i'm so happy that i'm seeing people i haven't seen in such a long time. i find that we're all so busy, that sometimes we lose contact with people by accident...and then it comes to a point when you don't feel right contacting them, so out of the blue...gotta keep the people you love around...and sometimes it involves effort, without trying you'll get nothing...nothing falls in your lap, you've got to try...

there's an angel watching over you...

i can't sleep. i keep thanking god over and over again for having an angel watch out for one of my loved ones. what i would do without her i have no idea. i'm so grateful that the boys were there to keep her company and make sure she was ok, i love those boys. i know, jacob keeps telling me over and over not to kick myself and no one's to blame, freak accidents happen. but somehow i still think over in my head, the many stupid things that lead to this circumstance...definitely gives a different perspective as to how i take this world for granted. i'll cherish my loved ones with a deeper passion and greater respect, and not dwell on the little petty and selfish people who aren't worth a penny for their thoughts.

life goes on, it's how you make the most of it that counts...

guess where i am? that's right...school...well, gerstein to be specific. i really enjoy the libraries (well, the university as a whole) during the summer time because there are WAYYYYYYYY less people (i hate crowds...). yup, i just got another indicator of how u of t wants to screw me over. on the bright side, 9 more half courses and i'm out of here!

i've been rudely jolted out of my summer dream of just relaxing and no worrying. HA. why i even think that could happen is beyond me. i guess it's one of those "you gotta dream" kinda things. anyway, the point is, i was informed quite bluntly that i'm not being serious enough about my projects and that if i don't shape up, i'm going to be a deadweight. #1. it's fucking summertime, and this project is a work in progress STARTING in september but not even due to start until JANUARY. #2. this has me seriously considering if i WANT to stay on this project if i'm going to pushed around and made to feel awful all year round, and #3. i've come to the sad realization that i really don't have the same love and devotion to my college that i once had in my innocent first year, and maybe it IS for the best if i resign now.

this along with another self-discovery: sometimes no matter how hard you try to keep things afloat, sometimes it's best to let things go. i've exhausted myself trying to keep up with my friends and family, and suddenly it's clear that while i can go out of my way to be a good person, friend and daughter, not everyone is on the same level. i can't continue killing myself to make selfish people happy, it's time i put myself first and make ME happy. of course this is going to be difficult, it's hard to put a philosophy into play, but i have good friends and family that are willing to help me in this "change".

on another note: it's interesting how small our world is. steve, simone and i found ourselves shopping at promenade mall yesterday after the movie we wanted to see (the notebook, oh yes, you can laugh at that) was sold out. we walked into jean machine and while simone was trying on some clothes, the salesgirl approached me and asked "so...are you going out with jason?" i stared back at her (like she was crazy) and informed her that no i wasn't dating jason (for the record, i don't know any jason's), and for that matter, i wasn't dating anyone! she apologized and said she asked because i looked familiar. fine, we all had a good laugh and steve and i continued waiting for simone. then the salesgirl came BACK and asked if i was SURE i wasn't dating anyone, and i said i'm pretty sure...and then she came around AGAIN and asked if i wasn't sitting on the lawn the other day. at the last question, i suddenly remembered that yes, i WAS sitting on my neighbor's lawn on monday evening with JACOB, but how the hell she knew that, i had no idea...until she told me that she was the girl sitting in the back seat of greg's car (with greg and terry) when they were passing by! it's funny because i didn't get a good look at her that night so there was no way i could ever had recognized her, and then when simone mentioned that steve was a friend of greg and jacob, she didn't recognize steve and only about AN HOUR later did steve realize who she was.

it's a small world after all...

the weather has been gorgeous and it's making me really excited about hitting up a beach or a cottage up north! i want to suntan! simone and i even bought the cutest bikini's at aqua the other day, so now i need an excuse to wear it! ;p

my computer is being stupid again. it won't let me log into ANYTHING. no hotmail, no utoronto account, no gmail, no blogger...no matter, i have two other computers to mess around with. hahaha. but i know this inconvenience will eventually drive me crazy.

after shopping all friday afternoon (hence the new bikini's!!!!), simone and i accidently mooched a sushi dinner off of patty and her 2 friends that came in from the states! (i say accidentally because we were fully going to pay for the meal but ken and matt decided they would treat us ladies...who's to say no to that? ;p) it was really nice of them as the sushi place we went to wasn't exactly CHEAP, but the food was good, and the guys ordered cold sake wine...oh man, i got sooooo giggly it was so funny!

afterwards, simone came over and we watched a couple of episodes of sex and the city (that's our goal, to watch the whole series this summer..hahaha) before we headed out at 10:30pm to jordon's house party. this is the best part...jordon lives 2 mins away in my neighbourhood, and you can't even imagine how great it is to just walk out of the house and walk to a party. it's a lot different then going to a party downtown toronto where you have factor in the time it takes to go DOWN and back UP and plus the subway and buses...just the biggest headache in the world, which is why i hate going out sometimes!

jordon is one of the nicest people i've ever met. he and his parents are so gracious and they don't even care who comes over (for the record, i met his mother before i met him...long story...involves dragging jacob out to vote with me...). simone and i literally walked up to the house, opened the front door, and walked right in (for all we knew, we could have been in the wrong house!) jordon's mom went out and bought chasers for everyone in hopes that we wouldn't be hungover the next day! right, so who's everyone? well steve took the liberty in inviting us over, as well as some other queen's people, and along with brandon, chad and greg, i met some more of jacob's highschool guys including alex (so cute!), lenny and niv. scary guy mark dropped by as well, and my only regret is that we missed out on seeing the infamous lucy and adam! greg was so nice, he insisted on driving us home (like it's far away or something...) and the rest of the night was devoted to 6 more episodes of season one SC.

i went in for a TB skin test yesterday, and somehow also found myself taking a blood test as well. it was my very first time i've ever done one of those, but it's really not that bad...i know grace HATES needles and all i've heard are stories of people holding to every limb while someone else does the blood test, but really, other then the slightly nausating sound of the squirting blood at the end (haha, sorry if that was gross) i feel that i'll be ok for future blood tests.

ah alright, to end on a non-gross note...today we're all going out to celebrate grandma's 90th birthday, whooo...something to dress up for! hahaha.

happy birthday canada!

what did i do to celebrate my nationality? i browsed through douglas coupland's souvenir of Canada 2 that's sitting ames' desk. wow do i feel canadian... haha.

i'm feeling pretty relaxed now that the field report's done and the bellringer is over (oh but the bellringer was brutal...). went to see the producers with my family last night and then on the subway ride home, we happened to run into aunt gen and uncle ron. interesting conversations arose and ended with an upset sister and me feeling retarded and stupid as usual...not cool.

today i went over to simone's and seeing how it was a GORGEOUS day outside, we walked over to commerce gate (hwy 7 and leslie) to have bubble tea, and of course, seeing as i don't see her enough (haha) we had a great long conversation as per usual and then watched some of mandy moore's cheesy chasing liberty...and when i say cheesy, i MEAN IT.

it's going to be quite interesting to see how i fare the upcoming week as i'll have absolutely nothing to do...and it's been a very long time since i've had THAT kind of feeling...

Sunday, June 27, 2004

i really SHOULD start my field report...after all, it's due tomorrow...whatever, i'll get to that after i blog...maybe... ;p

congratulations to flo and alan on a great bbq, although i can't say much about the food, for some odd reason i was particularly full last night *wink* and i don't know how to explain it, but i think flo lost me and matthew for a bit there...where did we go? i say we were in the basement watching the simpsons the whole time, i think flo was just too drunk to see us! *gasp* hahaha. also, i wish i knew the kids were going to be there so that i could bring michelle's yarn ball with me, as well as pictures from japan...i think we still need to meet up to go over the pictures some time!

so let me tell you about the fabulous time i had at the docks on friday...went over to simone's after work and dinner with the folks, and met up with steve, brandon, chad, richard and sajel (birthday girl) at the docks. great music + smirnoff raspberry twist (new favorite drink) + shot of something steve bought = a hell of a good time! at least i can say this time that i really did dance! (flashback to halloween...hahahaha) jacob came by after work to buy sajel a couple more shots and then he was kind of enough to come home with me as the subway stopped running.

dad bought tickets to the terracotta warriors show playing at the elgin theatre and we went to that on tuesday. ames was wondering how good it would be but i think we all throughly enjoyed the show. i think i enjoyed the movement of the long flowing robes that the dancers/actors wore and even though the music was of the traditional chinese kind with drums and strings and even an opera singer, it was really great to hear and see. i definitely recommend people to see it!

travel update:
cat and shelley are leaving wednesday, i think i need to see those girls again before they go!!!!! *tear* and i think i'll be seeing ava sometime this week, as she's off to japan next week! on the bright side, georges should be back tomorrow and i think we're supposed to go out (?!?!) plus faye should be back from france sometime soon...

ok, so it doesn't look like this field report will write itself...too bad.

disclaimer: this is NOT a happy post so i suggest you NOT read on if you're looking for a happy girl.

sometimes i wish i was a robot with no emotions, i think it would definitely make life easier. there's just too much 'drama' in my life right now, and it's speeding like a train wreck towards the limit of some sort of emotional or mental breakdown...i can feel it. i'm starting to drink more, and when i DO drink, i like to drink really fast so that i can feel the effects faster, so that i can laugh, be rambunctious and act like everything is alright.

i'm not really happy anymore, and this is terrible because when people ask me how everything is and how i am, i can't even say a fake 'great!' because i'm feeling THAT bad, that i'll just start babbling about what's wrong at the time, and frankly, i can see the scared expression on their faces, and their concern hurts me because i don't like to burden people with my troubles.

the worst thing is that the type of person that i am, i don't have many REALLY close friends (tons of acquaintences) and even less close girlfriends, but i can only count two that are even remotely close enough to see right now, and only one of them do i see on a regular basis. all the others are abroad, or out of town...and it's scaring me so much how i'm feeling like i'm losing my backbone and strength from them.

summer time is about having fun and this is the prime of my life to be out and about being a sub-adult and growing up. instead, i'm feeling so cloistered and smothered and i'm having difficulty from doing something really drastic. and i'm really afraid that the consequences will NOT be a pretty sight. i'm this close to losing it...i need something to break my fall, but what...i have no clue...

Friday, June 18, 2004

i look back on yesterday's post i'm thinking "wow that was so stupid, posting a blog about how drunk i am" but really, it was so much fun! just for the record, i was SO NOT HUNGOVER this morning (whew!), but i can't speak for either steve or simone, who were popping advils and drinking coffee on the subway! ;p

how stupid could I be
a simpleton could see
that you're no good for me
but you're the only one I see

HA! i am SOOOO WASTED right now....it's great! can you imagine? only 2 raspberry smirnoff twists and a shot of liquid cocaine (it's a drink) and i'm sooooo good to go. jacob and chad got to the bar about half an hour ago and they couldnt stop laughing at how gone i was...and simone and steve were like "rah!"

anyway, i have school tomorrow...goddamn school...

Sunday, June 13, 2004

so this week was "abbey" week. had a great dinner at salad king with faye on wednesday, i haven't seen her since new years. also saw our very pregnant friend, romeila (who i haven't seen since she left about 11 months ago to go to ottawa) and now she's back, 8 months pregnant and only married a month ago...i know...crazy! and then tanaks came back from kingston this weekend so we hit up money last night with faye and jamie (who i also haven't seen since god-knows-when). we were supposed to see karina and cha but they ended up going down to see some "northwest" music set thingy that was going on so i guess i'll see them some other time when tanaka comes in again.

awww, i feel so shitty right now. my "friend" decided to show up RIGHT before i went out last night. at that point i realized why i've been so moody lately. it was weird because i had gone out friday night with jacob and ames, and i'd get upset so easily but not really know the real cause of being mad. it just really sucks how hormones can take over your life and blow you away.

Tuesday, June 08, 2004

whoa what a crazy night. thanks so much to jacob and henry for coming to the rescue. no thanks to my crazy parents who wouldn't stop freaking out. really, how old am i? i think i'll always be 12 with them, and it's getting quite frustrating to open my own wings and fly...that's another rant for another blog...

as human beings, a common requirement is that we all do stupid things, but the best thing that shows up through all the stupidness is you find out who are your friends and who are not. i've had my fair share (tequila rose, girls? *shudder* ;p) and luckily for me, my girls are always with me thinking for me when i cannot.

simone needed me last night, and i was there to help her. mind you, i don't have a car, but that didn't stop me. jacob unfortunately could not be reached earlier, so i had my other friend, henry come to the rescue. sure, it was late at night, and i was ready to hit the sack, but hey, that's what friends do...look out for each other.

the 'episode' had a happy ending, but unfortunately, through it all, my parents had to be asses. i'm not going into the details but all i have to say is i don't agree with their morals and i'm not sure how i feel about being open to them anymore. i only wish they could be more supporting and more helpful, but i guess you can't have everything, eh? all i have to say, is if ANY of my friends ever need my help, they shouldn't worry about being judged or not having me watch their back (well, unless i'm in the same situation).

last night definitely opened up my eyes a little bit more to other people's closed minded views.

ew ew ewww!! (note to self: don't watch movies like 'something's gotta give' or 'calendar girls'...)
watching a movie with keanu reeves kissing diane keaton is just really really gross!

oh i spent too much money at the muhtadi drummer's festival at queen's park today. but it was pure good times as we stayed there from 12 noon to around 7:30pm. yah, there was some really awesome drumming (jamaican, caribbean, and even chinese dragon drumming!) and good food, and at 4pm there was a D-Day celebration on the other side of queen's park where we got to see a glimpse of dalton mcguinty and david miller. there was even a beer tent set up so that we could go and have a bottle of steamwhistle (which i just found out is made in the roundabout by the AC, and that is just really really cool!)

i'm exhausted. must be all that walking...huh...

Thursday, June 03, 2004

guess what? tee and i had our frosh coordinator interview today and......we didn't get it. =(

oh well, life is full of shits and giggles, and i guess this is a big piece of poo. on the bright side, i'll be able to go on vacation with parents in august (oh wait...how is that a good things?) BUT it also means i have more time to do...other stuff...

oh whatever. i wish i was still in japan.

Tuesday, June 01, 2004

i advise anyone with nothing better to do this summer to definitely go and see shrek 2. it had me in stitches the whole entire time! another movie i really want to see is the terminal with tom hanks and catherine zeta jones...she actually looks very pretty with the short hair and bangs.

it's been a weird couple of days. yesterday i had this uncontrollable desire to eat junk food, so i went out with my sister to buy a bag of chips...turns out you can buy one bag of lays for $2 but you can buy 3 bags for only $5...you can guess which deal i went for! but after having nearly an entire bag of chips to myself...i think i've sated THAT craving for awhile...not to mention having a reese's piece's blizzard from dairy queen today (flo, matt and i snuck ours into the theatre, but of course flo decided to leave the theatre again and BROUGHT her snack with her...and got in a fight with the girl about bringing outside food into the theatre...)i think my craving for ice cream has also been fed.

i also went insane with my debit card today. we had a test in class, and afterwards i told my mom it was a nice day and i wanted to walk outside for a bit before i came home...turns out walking outside means walking inside the jacob store at the manulife centre...that place just sucks me in like a vacuum cleaner...i bought the cutest pair of cargo pants...(they roll up at the side!) as well as a new PINK purse, and of course...the staple jacob underwear! they have this new line with really cool, bright colors and a little flower on the left side!

why is it so easy to spend money, yet so difficult to make it? if anyone has an answer to that, i'd love to know!

Monday, May 31, 2004

i hate brinkster because my website is now officially dead.

i am currently too stunned out of my mind to bitch about it, but at the back of my head, i'm thinking it might be alright...i haven't lost any of the pictures, the template's just empty...maybe it's an indication that it's time to move on, time for a change, start something new. i'm thinking i'll stick up some japan scenery especially the gorgeous statutes!

ames' has already offered to design a new webpage for me, afterall, last time she designed an amazing blog page but the url was all messed up so it didn't work out...i have full confidence in her to pull of something spectacular!

anyway, i can't dwell on this right now cuz i'm supposed to be *studying* hahahaha....

Sunday, May 30, 2004

guess who's going to the evanescence concert july 18th?!?!?!?! *point fingers at me* i'm so excited! i haven't gone to a concert since coldplay last summer, so this will definitely be a treat! oh, and just on the offside, their new music video, everybody's fool is just amazing...bashing the overly materialistic/capitalistic north american culture...i love their music videos.

i'm definitely tired and moody right now...human beings are such weird creatures, it's hard to figure them out. and you know what? i'm not going to try to because i can barely figure myself out...and until that happens, it looks like everyone else is on their own. don't count on it happening any time soon....

Thursday, May 27, 2004

i am soooooo sore from yesterday! (that's right...wink wink! hahaha) nah, i played hockey with the fisherville guys at rockford park (picture little miao playing with 7 other big boys...yeh, i thought so...i can't play hockey!) as soon as i got on the court, jacob decided he wasn't going to look where he was slapsticking the puck, and of course it ended up on me...but the guys are tons of fun, and it does bring back memories of me and the elmsley boys in first year!

i also witnessed the most psycho crazy event today: i randomly ran into my friend, tim, in queen's park (after randomly running into miguel, and cramer at st. mikes) and he was just so stoked about fixing up his bike from spare junk yard parts...and he was telling me about the difference between a spoke and a mag (it's a plastic wheel) and how he was missing a mag for his front tire...yada yada yada...and we were heading over to check out his place where he lives with mike around spadina station when he randomly spied a homeless guy with a wagon...with two wheels...one of them being a mag...and he stopped the homeless dude and asked him if he wouldn't mind exchanging his mag for a spoke...it was so cool! i witnessed this kid take apart, switch, and reassemble his bike wheel and the guy's wagon wheel!

that among other things...i finally met up with tarik and hashim, (this is where i insert that tarik is such a girl! he says he'll be there at 2pm and saunters into starbucks at 4:30pm....rat bastard!...i made him make it up to me by buying me a coffee, and then walking me to the subway station! hahaha!) and of course, they were just complete farts the whole time! it's funny how everytime we're talking, tarik feels the need to inject omar into everything...i'm convinced that he's trying to hook us up! what i don't understand is why he doesn't think i should like hashim! ;p

and the best guy i saw today was mr. joe fazz himself! i think i caught him at a bad moment, as he was trying to bum a ciggie off some lady when i knocked on the glass window next to him and started blowing kisses at him! (priceless!)

oh summer time spells good times!!

Wednesday, May 26, 2004

i personally am not a huge hockey fan, but i don't have any problems jumping on the bandwagon during the playoffs. last night was no exception. jacob called me out to watch the flames play at o'grady's with his buddies, so i invited brendan out as well and well...we were a great rowdy bunch!

the long and short of it: jacob went upstairs to play pool with cathy and mike, and while he was away, i finished the rest of my ale(some alcoholic cider...sweet and easy to drink) , and steve decides that i HAVE to have a refill (afterall, who nurses ONE drink all night...especially when the guys ordered 2 team pitchers?!?!?) needless to say, i chugged the last part of the glass (to steve and brendan's disbelief) and then when jacob came downstairs, he couldn't believe it either, so of course to prove that i DID, i chugged the rest of HIS glass too.

drunk now, the subway ride home was pure shits and giggles...jacob, steve and i COULD NOT STOP LAUGHING the whole time! the guys decided that the one-sided plexy glass on the subway conductor's door was really a mirror and the conductor REALLY COULDN'T see what they were doing...steve and i broke the seal earlier before we left o'grady's so we were both like "i hafta pee sooooo bad!" by the time we got to bloor, and then jacob decided that he was going to buy chocolate and candy, but he knew that i didn't eat either...so he bought me an apple strudel...a really sweet gesture...except that when you buy one of those at 12am, it's quite STALE...hahahaha, i took a couple of bites before i succumbed to the grossness and jacob ate the rest! at finch station jacob and steve decided to sing happy birthday to me (which they were doing periodically on the subway) from outside of the ladies washroom, and there was another drunk lady in there, and SHE started singing to me too! the guys thought it was me at first, and when they realized that it wasn't...they decided to hide in the guys washroom till i came out!

i was sooooo going to kick jacob's ass if i was hungover this morning...but seeing as i'm good, i'm jetting off to class! whoo! i should do this more often....

Monday, May 24, 2004

well it's been proven...i have delayed reaction.

we went out to dinner and ordered fried eggplant in a hot pot, and when the hot pot came, the waiter was having difficulty opening the lid, so OF COURSE i had to be retarded and think i could give him a hand by holding down the handle so he could pull it of. but OF COURSE the HOT pot is made of IRON and was HOT AS HELL...but OF COURSE there was the DELAYED REACTION and didn't realize how freaking HOT it was UNTIL it was too late.

i now have a circular depression on my thumb and a red ouchy depression on my pointer finger. you'd think i'd have learned from my last burning (last time i burned my pointer finger on the toaster oven...hey...same pointer finger!) but clearly i did not. *sigh* some things you NEVER learn...

well, in lieu of that...i went for a morning jog this morning and had my senses assaulted with nature (this is a GOOD thing). there were pine trees laden with raindrops, they looked like teardrops off weeping lashes...sooooo pretty. and then there was this scallawag squirrel that was sitting comfortably on this tree branch that was extended over the road...i actually almost didn't see it until i was UNDER it. it wasn't scared at all, it could have shat on me for all it cared (thank goodness it didn't)...and the BEST part about my jog was when i rounded a curve, i was confronted with a road that was no longer there. the rains from the weekend had flooded the road completely! i don't think the water was THAT deep that i couldn't run through it, but it was also enough that i'd be splashing through, as well i'd get my feet wet, and that is SUCH a NONO for running...plus because the road had become a lake, there were all these families of geese and their offspring that were just swimming around the little 'lake'.

actually, before i forget...when you run on the road, you have to be SOOOO careful of where you are running, so you don't crunch the snails that are on the warpath! later in the summer, there's always a patch of road that are almost COVERED in snails, there's only a few now...but when i say warpath...i mean that they are OUTTA THEIR SHELL and moving at a pace that you can say they're even moving! i'd hate to accidently step on them...that would totally suck for them! but yeh, anyway, they totally reminded me of this drawing grace once drew...it was something about a warrior snail...i can't really remember but i found it HILARIOUS! grace, you gotta post your warrior snail picture cuz i want to see it again!

oh, and we went to niagara falls today. i've been there a million times, and there's really nothing interesting anymore, perhaps they've added a couple more crazy fun houses and stuff on clifton hill, and maybe they made some of the little sketchy motels into something fancier...but other then the supposed 'drug bust' in the parking lot, there was niagara falls, casino niagara (btw, it was the FIRST time i'd been in a casino...i was carded THREE times today, clifton hills, niagara-on-the-lake....yeh...stuff.

my starbucks tall chai latte with soy cost $6.27. i think i had a heartattack before i recovered...thank goodness dad won money at the slot machines! ;p

Friday, May 21, 2004

oh wow...my computer just died on me.

i was chatting on msn with a couple of ppl...and there was this weird smell, like something was molding or something had died behind my computer....and then it died.

it turned off, and i was like "wtf?!?!?" and tried to turn it on again, but it was officially dead. which sucks ass because dad took this goddamn thing to the shop while i was in japan to clean up the viruses that overtook it....and i bet you they rigged it so that it would explode and i'd have to take it back! *shakes angry fist at dead computer*

so i'm on ames' comp now...thank goodness she's working tonight!

oh, before i forget...today was the first time that i ate in the CN Tower restaurant (the 360). it was really cool to see toronto from up above, cuz it definitely gives it a different perspective to when i'm walking around the city on foot. i just had a blast! and the best part was the fact that it was all free! (ie, i didn't have to pay for it! thanks dad! ;p)

oops...ames' is home now...and i am being kicked OFF the computer...

Thursday, May 20, 2004

i'm hungry. interestingly enough, i'm craving turkey...

edit

i lied...i don't like turkey
had little shanghai dumplings instead, there's soup in the dumpling....YUMMY!

Wise men say, only fools rush in.
But I can't help falling in love with you

Shall I stay
Would it be the same
I can't help falling in love with you

As the river flows
Gently to the sea
Darling so we go
Some things were meant to be

Take my hand
Take my whole life too
'Cause I can't help falling in love with you

- cover sung by darren hayes

ames is on a darren hayes kick right now (who by the way, has a great falsetto voice)and i wonder if it's possibly because i bought her that spin cd...i'd like to think so!

i got a gorgeous cream colored sheepskin throw rug for my room, a present from my ah yee...although, according to someone, this makes me a princess...i resent that!

ok, gattaca, here i come

it was bad enought that i had to get up early this morning...it was even worse when i got on the TTC. this morning was a very unpleasant reminder of why i think our TTC is abysmal, disappointing, and an embarrassment of north american transit system...and i guess it doesn't help since i have the japanese transit to compare it to. i got to downsview station at around 7:30am to find that the subway was shut down between downsview and st. clair west station. they were running shuttle buses in between, but not many people knew because the PA system was so faint and tinny. the japanese transit runs to the minute of when it's scheduled, and there are sooooo many subway/train/bus lines, it's just great! ugh...either our transit system needs more money, or a better system because it's just not working!

i just picked up my pictures....just looking at them brought back so many good memories of the days in japan! i miss japan! i'm looking to make a very large scrapbook, it's looking to be the one catherine suggested at lunch today, or my mom found another one at costco...hey cheap goes here! i can't wait to show these to people interested in what i saw...there really aren't any pictures of me in them...i never understood it before (i used to berate joseph about that...) but now i totally understand...why ruin a perfectly beautiful scenery with my face? hahahaha!

anyway, if people believe in the power of prayer, please pray for one of our abbey girls...it was just made known to our little circle of friends today, she has thyroid cancer....please pray...

Sunday, May 16, 2004

i just finished watching the last samurai with tom cruise, and let me tell you, i'm not usually a fan of his movies, but this was too amazing! it kept making me cry! (yes, i'm a sucker for movies that make me cry) and it's just sooooo good! i think i'm going to buy the dvd and put that as one of my top ten good movies to watch....along with finding nemo and armaggedon...

last night's party at alan's house was a good party to kick off my coming back to the T dot. it had a lot of people that i knew and it felt so good to be back into the non-asian atmosphere! flo did a kickass job of hostessing the food, before she became...uh...MIA...hahahahahaha! lots of hot guys too...too bad i wasn't...uh...looking...(flo, laugh all you want...)

yes, it's good to be back in toronto, i did miss my bed alot! i do miss my friends and family...but i can't help but start thinking about travelling again...perhaps australia or new zealand next time...or back to japan...i really love that place! and i just got an email from ray today, saying that he's going to nagano to teach english in a farming community in less then a month! i got so excited that i wrote him an email blathering about how great japan is and how people stare and yada yada yada...i hope i didn't scare him...hahahahaha...liz it was great seeing you in japan, and don't worry, i KNEW you had some dust in your eye! ;p

shelley dropped ANT323...damn girl, and here i thought it would be a great class with us never paying attention! i haven't checked any of my class marks yet...i'm still trying to avoid it like the plague...i really really really don't want to be disappointed, especially after i heard that the professor didn't change the weight of the marks...i think after i get the nerve to see my dismal marks, i'm going to be making some sort of complaint to the either the TA or the prof...narsty business....

to end on a positive note: ah yee haley is coming to toronto for wednesday, yes that's right...from AUSTRALIA!!!!! i tried to talk lachlan into coming but he explained to me how it would be wrong for him to be travelling with his parents...hahahahaha. i'm hoping that she'll bring with her tons of pictures of baby krystal! and hopefully by then i'll have my 10 rolls of film developed!!!!

omg...i need to go to the gym...

Thursday, May 13, 2004

so i've been too tired to blog the past couple of days. i've been waking up at 6:45am to get to kyoto for 9am to meet up with the kids (cass, chris and michelle) and getting home really late and then going to bed at around 2am...it's like i sleep even less then during the school year! so this is it...tomorrow i'm going home! anyone miss me?

ok, so highlights of the past week...

FRIDAY:
- went to roppongi with the kids at night and then walked to the tokyo tower and took some really cool night pictures (but now that i think about it...i forgot to take the flash off...it might not come out...)

SATURDAY:
- spent the morning in shinjuku shopping in expensive but really pretty stores
- cass called her friend, yasu, who came and met up with us, took us to a ramen restaurant and then took us to harajuku
- harajuku is a kickass place to be...it's where all the teenagers go to shop for stuff (like a kensington market)...aka...you see all the STYLIN' CLOTHING (hahahaha)
- yasu brought his friend, shun and we walked to shibuya for the night life...took sticker pictures...they are HILARIOUS...i'll put it up once i get home...)

SUNDAY:
- went to mount fuji for the day....and saw JACK SHIT....it was raining that day and nothing could be seen!
- BUT...i bought a postcard of how mount fuji would have looked like if it HAD been nice!
- went out for a beer in shinjuku, brought our new friend, bill, with us (i met him on the first day, we were both looking for the hostel and we both couldn't find it for awhile...)

MONDAY:
- while the kids headed straight to kyoto in the morning, i went to see nikko with bill
- saw the most beautiful temples and shrines made for the famous buddhist leyasu

TUESDAY:
- went back to kyoto and spent the day looking at more temples and shrines
- walked the philosophers walk (not the one at u of t) and stumbled upon the quaintest shop where i bought the cutest souvenir...tba...hahahaha
- got tons of mosquito bites (i itch all over!)

WEDNESDAY:
- went back to nara and looked at the kasuga taisha with all these gorgeous lanterns surrounding the shrine...
- saw more deer (nara has tons of deer because in pre-buddhist times they were considered messengers of the gods)
- went and saw the most gorgeous night view of osaka from the umeda sky garden....stunningly breathtaking...(i remembered to take the flash off this time...)

TODAY:
- went to himeji to see the himeji-jo castle (this is the castle that the great anime director, miyazaki, based his movie, spirited away on)
- shopping in the himeji mall! whooo!
- went to visit liz at work...saw her in action!!!!! she's a great teacher!

i will go into more detail when i get home...but i need to watch the last samurai and lost in translation ;p

i saw the most disturbing event this morning with liz as i was leaving sakasegawa....some guy was riding his bicycle and he most have swerved or something and fell of his bike. he hit his head on the concrete and this is where liz and i stumbled upon him. someone had picked up his bike and stood it up so at first i thought that perhaps some weirdo was sleeping on the ground. but then we realized that he was hurt...he was bleeding from the head and i think he was either trying to pick himself up or he was having a seizure...it was horrible. i think someone called the ambulance, but we went into the closest store (a phone store) and asked them to call an ambulance (kyukyusha)...and the worst part was we were making sure the ambulance was coming,?@and just before it came,?@some of the people tried to turn the guy over and that:s the worst possible thing to do...he may have hurt his neck or something,?@and by turning him over he might have his breathing passage blocked....it was the most horrible experience ever...we had to leave because it was so horrible and i felt like puking....even now i can:t really get the image out of my head....

i took the shinkansan to tokyo and had a bit of a hard time finding the guess T hostel....japan doesn:t really have streets...it:s a complex system of numbers the hostel didn:t really have a name out in english...plus people don:t speak english...but i finally found it and met up with christian, cassandra and michelle. we actually just got in...we walked around town and visited roppongi (a mix of yorkville and yonge street) with pimps and prostitutes (in big fluffy coat) harassing us...it was interesting to say the least. we walked to Tokyo tower but didn:t go up because it was closed...and ended up in a park nearby the hostel and just ate and drank some stuff...good times.

anyway, it:s late and it:s been a strange day.

Thursday, May 06, 2004

i got lost today...hahaha...well not really, i'm generally pretty good with directions, but since today liz wasn't with me (she had to go to work...her vacation is over! =(...) i kinda forgot what i wanted to see (the golden pavilion) and ended up wandering around to see the kyoto tower and the shosei-en garden (which was soooo peaceful and amazing! i saw a new family of ducks and tons of fish in the pond...aka fish pond...yes i made that name up!)

japan is a very clean city...there is NO garbage littered in the streets anywhere at all, in fact they don't even have many public trash cans, so it's quite amazing that there is no pollution to be seen. i think i'm liking japan alot...how ironic is that? that i can't stand to hang out in asian populated places (ie, the sidney smith hanger, or first markham place, or pacific mall), yet the first place i go out of north america....is japan. hahahahaha. (THANKS LIZ!!!! ;p)

i saw the cutest (kawaii) event take place at a the umekoji park i visited today...there was a dog and his owner sitting close by where i was, and this little kid who looked about 2-3 yrs old with his parents. the kid was sooooo facinated by the dog...and he would point at it and say "whoa whoa"...it was so adorable! it reminded me of when i was little and i used to say that! and then when the dog was leaving, the kid waved at it! and that was my cute for the day (well, that and my cute owls!...but that will be explained another day...hahahaha!)

Back from mount koya!

what a great experience that was...to live a night in a temple and then....getting up for a 6am buddhist prayer feast! ahahaha. liz and i went to osaka for the day and went shopping in a store called "comme ca" which is like a department store with different floors equivalent to "old navy" and "gap"...man we had fun in that store. plus we looked at different cameras for my sister, and we sent her an email with attachments of the pictures, and hopefully AMES will write back...hahahah.

rode on a 2 hr train ride to mount koya and looked at the gorgeous scenery of rural japan (although it was raining all day, but that's ok...rain is fun!) the temple people are gracious and hilarious! i have pictures of the futons we slept on, and the very fluffy comforters that were on top...i mused about whether the staff would notice if i left with one of their comforters...but decided that it would be too noticable, and plus, it's quite large....

we had an incredible amount of vegetarian food for dinner and breakfast (more for dinner) and we chatted for just over 2 hrs...what a great meal! what a great experience!

checked out some temples and gravestones as okunoin-mae and it was really cool with the fog in the morning (well, we were up at 6am, so it didn't make sense to go back to sleep...) then we went back to namba (south part of osaka) and took a train to nara!

nara is a touristy place known for it's run of deer and of course, the big buddha. it totally reminds me of the deer park in marineland, same deal. i spent an exorbitant amount of money on souvenirs in nara...oh man, the stores totally sucked money out of me like there was no tomorrow. yes, we visited some temples like the famous todaiji temple (with the large buddha...there's this pole that has a hole cut in the bottom, the size of the big buddha's nose and little kids like to go through it...liz did it last time and she fit through it....however, this time ....no can do!) we also took a look about turtle lake, which is basically a large lake with tons of turtles in it....this is where i got hit on by this guy while liz was playing with a turtle...hahahaha...he kept asking me if i was japanese and where i was from...it was quite funny!

the best part is that everywhere liz and i go, people always assume that i'm japanese and turn to me when they speak. i always smile, nod and give a blank/surprised stare. liz on the other hand, is my translator and somehow, no one seems to believe that she can speak japanese, and continues speaking to me, even though i CLEARLY cannot understand what they're saying....irritating...but understandable...

anyway, japan is sucking me dry...and it's only been 5 days....i learned a couple new words..."gomenasai" means i'm sorry, "kawai" means cute (remember, everything is cute here...) and "wakannai" means i don't know.

oh yeh, grace i saw those charms you were asking about today...sorry i didn't know earlier, but i hear they're all over the place so yeh i'll look one up...exams are cute! hahaha.

Monday, May 03, 2004

OH SHIT! before i forget....HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIMONE! ;p heh heh...i almost forgot, man i'm terrible about birthdays....

also, liz has a blog now. check it out at happyenjoytime oh, and also, the time that appears on the blog is CANADA time, you gotta add 13 hrs to that time. hahaha
the fashion crimes continue...it's all over japan....i guess for liz, she's become desensitized to it all, but i ALWAYS laugh and point out the girls and their funny fashion sense...it's so weird, like liz says, it's like in toronto the people that dress retro or have their own "sense of style" do it to be different...but in japan, they do it to be the same.

went to kobe today and the china town there...it was PACKED full of people. two words i use alot in japanese are "sumimasen" (excuse me) and "arigato" (thank you). people aren't very polite here, they just kind of push me and i turn around and say "sumimasen" like I had pushed them and then they look at me like i'm crazy! hahaha....had kobe beef at this really cute restaurant, Ryu-en, that looked out over the harbor of the 'port of kobe'. we also went to the top of the 'port of kobe tower' (nothing compared to our CN Tower) and did some shopping! there are soooooo many shops that sell 'cute' stuff. cute is the name of the japanese game. everything is cute...from stupid 'hello kitty' toys to the cute sound of the siren on the japanese ambulances.

we went to mount rokko later in the evening because we wanted to see the 'spectacular' city lights from the top...BUT when we got there, we saw nothing but fog and mist because it had begun to rain. it was SOOOO funny, liz and i were like we totally got suckered..hhahahaha, we couldn't stop laughing, i have a couple of pictures of us in the dark with NOTHING behind us...hahahaha...

went searching for okonomiyaki for dinner...didn't really happen because the town of sakasegawa basically shuts down at 8 pm (well except for this really neat shrine right by liz's place) so we rented a really sweet and sad movie called 'my life without me' with sarah polley and scott speedman while eating instant ramen in a bowl...ah you gotta love instant noodles...especially when i spent so much money today... anyway, we're supposed to go running tomorrow morning so sleep is in order.

no grace, haven't visited the pachinko places yet...maybe tomorrow in osaka. ;p

Sunday, May 02, 2004

the most memorable thing i've seen today on the subway: a 10 year kid flamboyantly picking his nose like he was digging for gold...haha....

good times in kyoto! went to maruyama park and went to look at the kiyomizudera and chion-in temple (even including a grave yard!) had takoyaki for the first time...what is it? it's octopus balls! hahahaha, it's pieces of octopus cut up and mixed with a batter of ginger and rice and green stuff and heated in a special cooker and it tastes delicious!

the japanese girls have a funny sense of fashion...they like to go 'sight-seeing' in stiletto heels...we're climbing mountains for crying outloud! and anything goes...from wearing fishnet stockings in bright yellow pointy shoes to wearing blue panty hose to right below the knee in open-toed sandals!!!

we went back to osaka and went to an ALL YOU CAN EAT AND DRINK beer garden with some of liz's friends, some sketchy guys, stefan and rob...typical foreigner guys who think they're the shit in japan because all the JAPANESE girls fawn over them...yech...BUT we did have fun drinking chu-hi (equivalent to coolers) and eating japanese food...before heading over to the dotombori district to check out fun games, sketchy-fake souvenir shops and typical pimp daddies trying to make me into a hostess...hahahahaha!!! (j/j! liz wouldn't let me go...how would she explain this to my parents? hahahaha!)

anyway, 2am...time to sleep...the jet lag has begun.

Saturday, May 01, 2004

jet lag hasn't set in yet....maybe in a couple of hours, especially since i'm going out right now...hahahaha. so that means liz DID find me at kansai (well, there's only two terminals) and it's been really interesting...on the flight over from toronto to vancouver, it suddenly occured to me that there might not be any starbucks in japan so i got really worried that i had missed my chance of drinking tazo chai's with soy for the next 14 days! luckily there was one at the vancouver airport so i got one...but little did i know that there's a starbucks on most every corner of the big japanese cities....DUH!

anyway, we're going to a going away party for one of liz's friends so i'm hoping i'll have more time to write more later. (or not...)

Friday, April 30, 2004

T-a couple of hours...

what a great day...combined with the fact that i'm done ALL my exams...and meeting up with my girls shelly and cat for SUSHI lunch, and then going on a 'date' with flo to the movies (long story, too tired to type it all out now...she can blog about it...) i think i'm officially seen off on a long and prosperous journey...hahahahaha.

i forgot to mention that i saw karen the other day. not much has changed, she's still the great friend that i met in highschool, and we DID run into monica and katherine from highschool...it was almost like a random 'abbey' reunion...we should do that...NOT! hahahaha.

anyway, i'm exhausted...i need some sleep...heehee.

Tuesday, April 27, 2004

i should go to japan more often...suddenly everyone feels the need to send me off. i had an amazing lunch with carl at the bottom line (we had some AMAZING pizza!) and then i went and bought my JR Pass (so exciting! it's beginning to seem so real!) and then i went back north to teach, and then went out to dinner with patty and jonathan! yes yes, i managed to twist jon's arm (nah, i just have a way with words! ;p) so we went out for sushi at this great ALL YOU CAN EAT place (omg, we ate till we were stuffed...and then we ate more!) patty almost fell asleep so jon drove me home, what a blast!...whoo jonathan...i swear, i'm in love with that kid!

saw my girls (simone and flo) for lunch (SUSHI!!!!!) and of course rich, who is still as hot as always...also met liz's parents when my mom and i went to pick up the tim horton's coffee, ketchup chips and cinnamon hearts they were sending her...awwww, this miss her so much!

the japan itinerary is done! i even have a plan A and plan B (i know, geeky, eh?) although, i'm still trying to book a night at the temples at koyasan....

Monday, April 26, 2004

so i've been trying to start this 'diet' (i put diet in quotes because it's not really one of those 'i don't eat' kind of diets, or 'no carbs' or 'no protein') it's essentially me eating less. i've realized that my exercising just counter-balances all the eating i do. and the last month i stopped going to the gym because of exams and stuff, and whoooo boy....let's not go there...hahahahaha! ;p

anyway, so i've been chatting with henry and getting his advice about what to not eat after 8pm and i keep breaking this 'diet' because everytime, i'd ask him if it's ok to eat this? no too much sugar, can i eat this? no too much carbs...hahahaha, and everytime i tell him i've been bad, and he just laughs and says, it's ok try again tomorrow....hahahaha...so yeh, the 'diet' isn't working out...oh well, i keep trying...

why isn't it working you ask? well, i just got back from going out to demetres (sp?) with omar, hashim and tariq, and let me tell you, those guys kill me. i haven't laughed so hard ever with a group of friends that weren't tanaks or karina...wow it's just maniacal! and so yeh, i had some awesome tiramisu and i came home and i told henry and he's just, it's ok, try again tomorrow...hahahaha

and yes, as flo says, i have a dawson...he's great, i can't believe that i can just walk out of my house at 10:30pm, and walk in at 1:30am....ONLY because he lives 2 mins from me....amazing!

what else is amazing? well, a certain friend of mine who shall remain nameless, has gotten a cellphone! after a year hiatus, it's about time!

the count-down has begun...exam on thursday and i'm outta here friday! whooo!

Notice me
Take my hand
Why are we
Strangers when
Our love is strong
Why carry on without me?

Everytime I try to fly
I fall without my wings
I feel so small
I guess I need you baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, it's haunting me
I guess I need you baby

I make believe
That you are here
It's the only way
I see clear
What have I done
You seem to move on easy

And everytime I try to fly
I fall without my wings
I feel so small
I guess I need you baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, you're haunting me
I guess I need you baby

I may have made it rain
Please forgive me
My weakness caused you pain
And this song is my sorry

Ohhhh

At night I pray
That soon your face
Will fade away

And everytime I try to fly
I fall without my wings
I feel so small
I guess I need you baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, you're haunting me
I guess I need you baby

- everytime

it's been such a long time since i've seen music videos and hear the new songs. i don't know what's going on in britney's new music video, but i love the song. i also like avril's song "don't tell me", go feminists!
awesome! i got gmail too. so from now on, ppl, please send your emails to meowie@gmail.com. whoooo! (for the record, i was so jealous when flo said she got an invitation to gmail and i was like 'i didn't!' i checked all my email accounts and got nothing...hahahaha, it's on BLOGGER...duh!)

i'm not the only person to award the 'DUH!' to! simone is such a silly goose! she thought she had a sociology exam last night, and when she went to the room yesterday, it was empty! so she went with georges and reza to figure out what happened...and the exam is TODAY! not only that, but she also managed to mix up the day of her calculus exam too! it's not tomorrow, it's FRIDAY! on the up side, she didn't get to miss the killer game last night! yay yay eddie! yay yay leafs! (ames was wondering if those weren't two big bug eyes on the top of lalime's helmet? i had no idea!)

my hair's gotten really really long. i want to cut it, but i don't know what style i want to cut it into. i liked it the way it was last summer (yes, that was almost a year ago...) but i didn't like the fact that it was like a rat tail when i put it up in a pony tail! henry is very against this idea, hahahaa. he like's my "volumptous" hair volume. hahahaha. well, no worries yet, this is only an idea, i'm too chicken to do anything drastic....yet.

i'm really excited about my trip. i've been chatting with liz on msn and she's so helpful! i can't wait to see her! whooooo!

anyway, enough sitting on my ass...

Sunday, April 18, 2004

boo. sens win, the leafs are too slow.

who's colin?
i'm so tired of school. i want tomorrow over now.

Friday, April 16, 2004

this has been bugging me for a couple of days....someone told me that their impression of me was that i'm "lady-like". whoever agrees with that comment, please feel free to let me know WHY they have that impression of me! i'm not insulted or anything....just...FLABBERGASTED (hahaha, gotta love that word!) i feel that clearly this person doesn't know me, because i don't THINK i'm lady-like at all. hahahahaha. mind you, i'm not saying i'm VULGAR....just....not necessarily the epitome of feminity (? is that a word? yes, i know i have a habit of making up words....shitakular, desperality...to name a few...) it's just that when i think "lady-like" i think "high maintenance" like those girls who can't live without spending an hour on hair and makeup and jewelery.

so really, i'd like to know what it is about me that would give off that impression, if at all. i 'd like to make some sort of witty comeback to that person who made such an outrageous suggestion! ;p
How Seductive are You?
Savvy Sex Kitty
You know that to attract a guy you need to drop a delicious hint ("I'm thinking of checking out this new comedy show on Friday"), step back and let him nibble on the bait. Sure, you'll sometimes kick it up a notch by asking for a guy's number or playfully touching his arm, but you don't throw yourself at him. "To invite a guy's interest, you realize that you don't have to be as outwardly sexual as propping up your cleavage or offering him a back massage at a bar," says Logan Levkoff, sexologist and sex educator in New York City. Instead, your brand of sexy is subtly playful, whether it's making a joke about the ketchup you spilled on yourself or smiling at your crush while you dance with your friends. "You give off the vibe that you're having fun, and that's what makes you so appealing," says Levkoff.

i'm so peeved. and frustrated. and did i mention i was peeved?

i walked to starbucks this evening (it's takes like 20 mins to get there) and i was hoping to study at the coffee shop for like 2 hrs and then go home. but when i arrived, it was PACKED TO THE MAX with people. i asked the bartender if was less busy as the night wore on, and he answered that it got busier...BUSIER?!!?!?!? *sigh* this is what you get when there's only one starbucks around my area...everyone crowds there. there's a second cup across from starbucks, but i'm betting it's just as crowded. i just want someplace nice to drink a cup of chai (whoo chai!) and to study for my exam. apparently i'm not going to get that up where i live...why can't i live somewhere that has coffee shops on every corner of street?!?!?!

at least i got some sort of exercise going on...hahahaha, after being on hiatus for a month, my muscles are going to kill me after ABT. whoo ABT! the sad news is that she's gone after next week...i don't know what the future of ABT is and that sucks butt. someone call a doctor! that and plus david won't be here for groove nation for the next 3 weeks...what is this world coming to?

so i'm trying to type mindless jabber on blogger, but i can't even keep anything straight in my mind because my train of thought is being constantly punctuated with my sister's phone conversation with her friend about some sort of chemistry lab experiment...something about the teacher joking with the class....half the class dropped out??? ugh....i'm peeved...

Tuesday, April 13, 2004

i want to see pictures! i hear they're pretty good....well except for the ones where people look either retarded or high...hahahahaha...i want to see pictures....

i've been procrastinating like there's no tomorrow. this weather makes me sleepy, i think i'm going to take ANOTHER nap...hahahaahaha, way to continue the procrastination....i guess i'll be up working on mr. dworkin tonight...booo...

The Ten Commandments of a University Student

I- Thou Shalt Nap
And God gave unto Student a great gift, the gift of napping. God said to
him, You shall spend half your day napping. You shall nap in class, in your
room and in your friend's room. And God said, if you don't nap, you will not
be able to stay up all night drinking. And Student said, Nap I shall, and it
was good.

II- Thou Shalt Get Sick All the Time
Now God said to Student, you must be sick all of the time. And student
said "why?" And God said unto him, you shall share drinks, stay up too late,
drink too much and make out with people you don't know. Therefore, God said,
you shall be sick all year round. But God said, blessed are the sick for
they have partied the hardest. And it was good.

III- Thou Shalt Write Witty Away Messages
Student asked, but God, how will I show everyone that I am funny? And God
said unto him, thou shall write witty away messages. God said to student,
you shall never just say you are in the shower, you shall say you are
getting wet and wild in the shower. You shall never say you are at class,
you shall say you are sleeping.in class. God said, if you do not write witty
away messages, I shall smite you. Blessed are the funny, for they will get
many girls to be their friends but never hook up with them. And it was good.

IV- Thou Shalt Wear a Hoodie
And then Student asked God, God how do I look like a college kid. And God
said unto student, you must wear a hoodie, for it is a useful garment. And
you shall never wash it either. Student asked God what kind of Hoodie should
it be and God said, you shall own one with your school's logo on it and you
shall own many others of varying colors and creeds. And Student was pleased
and God was pleased.

V- Thou Shalt Shit a Lot
And Student asked of his bathroom habit and God told him, Student, you
shall eat in the Cafeteria and you shall shit a lot. And it will not be good
shit, it will be the shit of the devil for your ass shall burn for hours.
Your school shall put laxatives in their food and you shall feel their pain.
And Student began to weep, and God said unto him, Student, fear not the
shit, for all your fellow students will be experiencing the same. And
Student dried his eyes and thanked God and God told him to use wet naps to
ease the pain.

VI- Thou Shalt Eat EasyMac
Student asked unto God if there was any alternatives to the cafeteria, and
God said to him, you shall eat a lot of EasyMac. It is easy to make and you
don't need milk or a stove. And student said microwaves were forbidden by
the RA. And God said to him, you shall hide the microwave under your bed
with a towel on top. And Student asked, what if it is discovered. And God
told him to stop being such a pussy, and it was good.

VII- Thou Shalt Hook Up
Student then asked of sex. And God said, Student, you shall hook up and be
happy. You shall go home with random people every weekend and forget about
them the next day. You shall see them at class and be awkward amongst their
company. You shall exchange saliva at bars and parties and it will be good.
And Student became gleeful and God told Student to wrap it up because He
knows where she has been, but Student does not.

VIII- Thou Shalt Join a Club and Never Go to Meetings
Student inquired of his spare time and God reminded him that he should be
napping. But Student said he wanted to do other things. So God said unto
him, you shall join a club at the beginning of the semester, but then never
go to meetings. And Student asked why he should not go to meetings, and God
told him, because the glee club is gay. And Student understood His wisdom.

IX- Thou Shalt Wake Up Confused
God said to Student, there will come many a day when you shall wake up in
the bed of another and not know where you are. You will not remember what
you did last night and you shall be confused. You will see that you have
nipple rings and a tattoo now and are covered in Sharpie (and baby powder!).
And Student was disturbed by this, but God said, you shall tell great
stories about it to your friends someday. And Student understood and God
took a sip of a beer.

And God gave Student the final Commandment

X- Thou Shalt Gain Weight
And Student wished to hear the final commandment and God said he would not
like it. But Student insisted, so God said unto him, you shall gain weight.
However, God said, you will not buy new clothes, so you will wear sweat
pants a lot. God said, Student, you will watch a lot of TV and become fat to
which Student wept profusely. But God comforted Student saying, you will
still get ass even if you cannot tie your shoes anymore. Student felt better
and God pointed to Student's chest saying, those will soon be bitch tits.
And it was good.

This is the word of God, follow the Ten Commandments of College or you
will be smite!

On another note, i have registered for my summer classes, it's all good!

to continue the procrastination, i have now uploaded my pictures from the formal and winterfest party....
thanks to ben who had me laughing off my ass for at least 5 mins....flabbergasted...

FLABBERGASTED

To be surprised or astonished.

The British comedian Frankie Howerd used to say in mock astonishment: “I’m flabbergasted—never has my flabber been so gasted!”. That’s about as good an explanation for the origin of this word as you’re likely to get. It turns up first in print in 1772, in an article on new words in the Annual Register. The writer couples two fashionable terms: “Now we are flabbergasted and bored from morning to night”. (Bored—being wearied by something tedious—had appeared only a few years earlier.) Presumably some unsung genius had put together flabber and aghast to make one word.

The source of the first part is obscure. It might be linked to flabby, suggesting that somebody is so astonished that they shake like a jelly. It can’t be connected with flapper, in the sense of a person who fusses or panics, as some have suggested, as that sense only emerged at the end of the nineteenth century. But flabbergasted could have been an existing dialect word, as one early nineteenth-century writer claimed to have found it in Suffolk dialect and another—in the form flabrigast— in Perthshire. Further than this, nobody can go with any certainty.

after this, my sister and i started looking up some other words...these are HILARIOUS! (yes, we're geeks...)

fo' shizzle my nizzle

"fo shizzle ma nizzle" is a bastardization of "fo' sheezy mah neezy" which is a bastardization of "for sure mah nigga" which is a bastdardization of "I concur with you whole heartedly my African american brother"

OR

For sure, my nigga. Should only be used by a black person, to a black person - unless you want your ass kizzled. Variations acceptable for use by whitey include:

fo' shizzle my sizzle = For sure, my sister.
fo' shizzle my bizzle = For sure, my brother.
Yes sir, Suge sir. Right away sir. = Please Suge, don't kill me.

Whitey 1: Hey man, are you going to the club tonight?
Whitey 2: Fo' shizzle, my bizzle. Right after I watch the game on my televizzle.
Whitey 1: Sorry Suge sir, don't kill him.

dumps like a truck

A large booty. From dump truck: a vehicle with a large area for hauling things. It's just the woman-car metaphor with another twist. see junk in the trunk, badonkadonk

That girl got dumps like a truck, yo!

badunkadunk

a dick-bouncin, dynamic booty, that defies the laws of physics and reminds men why we wanna be dogs or an urban term used to define approval of the voluptuous curvature of a feminie rump.

We snapped our necks 'round, lost the beat of the funk, and laid our eyes upon Maryjane's beautiful badunkadunk.

The posterior of the female anatomy when concerning the homosapien species. In which the diameter of the said posterior is not to exceed 50 inches but not to go below 40 inches. Equally as important the owner of the badunkadunk must possess a waist line no larger than 2/3 the diameter of the badunkadunk.

Noun: She has a nice badunkadunk
Verb: Her ass seems to be badunkadunking

weapon of ass destruction

A loud, stinky room-clearing fart that often leaves a skid-mark in the farter's underpants. Usually the result of eating greasy food.

Goddam, Bob! Lay off the chilli! I can smell that Weapon of Ass Destruction all the way down the hall!

Gay slang for an exceptionally large penis, so named because of its tendency to cause anal bleeding during buggery. (see also dumdum bullet)

Hello Mr Archer, welcome to Belmarsh Prison. Your cellmate is Mad Mickey McPerve, i'd be very wary of him if i were you, he has a weapon of ass destruction, and he's not afraid to use it.

hahahahaha....ok, now i gotta finish my report...

Saturday, April 10, 2004

i would like to take this time to say how much i appreciate people. to my dear friend, ellan, thank you so much for taking the time to meet up with me and lend me your digital camera to take pictures. without ellan, i would have nothing, and my lab report would be shot to hell. however, due to my inability to take pictures, a lot of them came out really bright and white, and the detail was lost on a lot of them. so i was still kind of freaking out....this is where warren comes to the rescue! this amazing kid sent me an email with the url to some of his own pictures, and let me tell you, i almost cried. (well, that and plus i'm so tired....up late on the phone last night....hahahahaha...that's a story to be saved for another time...hahahaa)

Thursday, April 08, 2004

i just sent my phone in to get the antennae fixed...now i have a ghetto large flip phone...cool! hahahaha. i also don't know how to get the salt out of my jeans from the winter (it's obvious i don't wear these jeans often...) and so now i'm sporting a new style of having salt stains on the back of my jeans....hahahaha, oh brother.
wow, this japan thing is going to be sooooo totally cool! now that i've found out that chris, cass and michelle are going as well, it will definitely make the trip alot more fun! i'll probably spend the first week with liz and her golden week doing stuff that she hasn't done yet, and then when the trio gets into tokyo we'll go all out (well, unless cass pulls her 'princess complex' and then we'll all have to stay in tokyo and help her find her future japanese husband at the shopping malls and clubs....yech)

the only bad thing is that when i get back, i'll be poor beyond belief...hahahahaaa....i guess moving out will have to wait another year....well, unless i get a good job that pays a lot more then i'm getting now....hmmmm

SCHOOLS OUT!
nyah nyah! i finished my second final last night, and i think it went well considering i knew the answers to the questions and that's always a good thing! it turned out that the test wasn't as hard as thought it would be, and i did well on the essay (well, minus the 6% late penalty...boooo)

went out with simone and rich for drinks at o'gradys and uri and ben stopped by...good times! *wink wink* (that one's for you, flo...hahahahaha) 2 hot guys, too much to handle! hahahaha

Wednesday, April 07, 2004

oh, i wish i were an oscar meyer weiner...

if i was an oscar meyer weiner right now, i wouldn't have to study for my final...hmmmm....
studying sucks ass. the good thing is that stuff is sinking in and the content is so incredibly interesting and great. the bad thing is that i'm not nearly done with my lecture notes (i was hoping that by this time i'd be done so that i could go through my textbook....but oh well, there goes my A) but i'll be done by 6pm tonight.

wish me luck!

tarik, you better be waiting for me after class you bastard....hahahahahaha

Monday, April 05, 2004

i was up until 4am this morning studying for my final bellringer and i got up at 7:30 am to go over to shelly's and study a little bit more before i had at it 10am. brutal. the good thing is that this time, the test didn't seem quite as hard (hmm....maybe because i studied so much at the last minute??!?!? or maybe it's because they're on homo specimens and i just find them so much more interesting...hahahaha)

right before the final, shelly and i were joking about feeling ppl's occipital buns...hahaha...except that it's not what you think it is, and anatomically modern human beings don't have them...hahahaha. as well, we rehashed the "tofu" date for nicole and this really cute guy was standing right next to me, and he totally couldn't stop laughing. and he likes tofu too! i think i've started a new dating trend! hahahahaha!

so now i'm at home and going to nap now. oh, don't be fooled by the sunshine, the wind cuts like a knife...

Saturday, April 03, 2004

i really wanted to blog on thursday right after i got off of the subway...

the train was leaving summerhill and heading towards rosedale when the train conductor's voice is heard: "attention all subway passengers, i regret to inform you that all trains will be out of service from rosedale to dupont station..." you can literally hear the collective groan in the subway car, as well, i start swearing like a mofo and calculating that walking from rosedale isn't REALLY that far from the library.... "all today, tomorrow, maybe next week, maybe the next couple of months..." by this time i realize that this is too awful to be possible and then two words flash in my head and i turn to simone and say: APRIL FOOLS! "happy april fools everyone!" now everyone is all relieved and smiling, and yes it was a great joke because everyone had a heartattack, but no one died. i was so excited about this, that as we got off at wellesley, i turned and waited for the train to go by and told the conductor that it was an awesome joke!

my cousin, lanthia, just had a girl! her name is krystal and she's the most adorable thing in the world! lachlan sent me some pictures and he's calling her "little monkey". i wish i could see them, hmmm....maybe i'll go to australia next year.....

oh and i've got pictures! of course i'm too lazy to scan them in and stick them on the website, so you'll have to wait another week or so before i have enough time to be able to procrastinate.

Wednesday, March 31, 2004

i don't know what's wrong with me. i've been sleeping so many hours for the past couple of days, yet i'm still so tired! i've been so tired that i've actually been able to fall asleep in some of my classes. i think i just don't care anymore. yech.

i couldn't stop laughing when i read this. it's the funniest story ever! ;p

anyway, kelly's korner is tonight, and i'm not going to it because i have to go home and sleep. My stomach keeps rumbling and since i'm sitting in the library....it's not that fun....especially when the guy sitting right next to me just let out the biggest sneeze ever.

Sunday, March 28, 2004

wow, talk about coming off of a high...

just got home from the peel pub on college where SMCSU had their last celebration of the old council. why was i there? hahaha, because i was the CRO for the tumultanous elections and they all wanted me there! how it feels to be loved! mind you, i got soooo buzzed on beer and we were all laughing and were being really nutty...

and then you come home to the awful news of cecelia's death...

C- may you rest in peace

it's times like these, when you wonder why people believe in god...

Friday, March 26, 2004

i finished my essay in 5 hrs and handed it in. whoa that's a crazy run. although, the bad news is that i obviously didn't read the course notes because now it says i have to get it to the T.A. and i don't know her email...how screwed am i? ahhhhhh.

anyway, i'm exhausted
ahhhh....the dramatic elections has finally come to a close (okok, knock on wood, we all know the candidates MIGHT appeal...but we also know they most likely won't....) the point is, IT'S OVER.

tension was high, and tempers were raging...ppl were quite impatient with the time it took to count ballots (about 7 hours of non stop counting...how exhausting) and then afterwards they wanted me to go out partying....yeah riiiiiight....although i did stop off at mullins to say hi and congrats!

unfortunately, neither of my essays are done although i may have a fair chance of finishing one tomorrow. i guess that means i should check in with my bed.

Wednesday, March 24, 2004

i have 2 essays due today, and neither one is even close to being done....maybe because neither one has been even been worked on. this is NOT good. i'm too tired and stressed, so much that i don't even really care anymore. you know it's bad when i'm calculating late penalty marks.

those election mofos are getting a hit placed on them after elections. this one candidate had the audacity to question my judgement AND THEN my authoritative power over a ballot box. he made me sooooo angry, i wanted to hit him...in fact, i don't think i'd ever been put in a position where i was completely speechless for over 30 secs. i can't believe how this guy even got to me. he made me so completely unsure of myself and my decisions and thank god joe figs came over and calmed me down enough to show me that i still completely sane and that he's going to kick that guys ass to the moon and back.

off a different tangent...went out for our tuesday lunch with simone, and she brought this really hot guy, rich, with her. the funny thing is that i've actually met him before, in my first year eco100 class, and this was the SAME GUY that i had gone up to, and told him he had "gorgeous eyes". wow, how embarassing...hahahahahahaaaa....for him! hahahaha. (i have no shame!) we had the greatest time, and now rich thinks i'm coocoo...but that's ok, because i really think i've lost it.

Tuesday, March 23, 2004

wow, i just finished my anthro-linguistics assignment. man was that some tedious work extracting and coding the raw data for 2 english kids from york. it was a cool assignment because we were looking at the use of "be-like" before quotatives in english, as well as "say", "think", "go" and the zero quotative...but i am sooooo tired now. and needless to say...i need to start my bioethics essay tomorrow morning as it's due...hahahaha...WEDNESDAY...along with my social cultural paper...which i probably won't hand in until thursday....i'd rather take a 3% hit then a 5% hit. ah....the pressures of essays....

in other news...i checked out the pictures from the cssu formal. flo looks so gorgeous it's unbelievable...and sadly enough, yes everyone looked lovely, but i still believe that the st. mike's formal is better simply because the girls seem to dress fashionably better....just MY point of view...heh heh heh...

anyway, i'm going to crash now.

Sunday, March 21, 2004

i wasn't planning on blogging....i have 6 billion things going on and i really don't have time to do this. but after reading flo's blog, she made me so excited that i have to say this: i got a corsage too! it was a gorgeous white orchid and it matched my dress perfectly! there was no dancing for me because the heels on my shoes were soooo high that i couldn't even walk properly (but they did look very nice! ;p ah the things girls do to look good!) , but brendan and i did sit in the front hall and talk to everyone who was going into and out of the washrooms!

the cocktail party was a huge success, so many people came out for the free flowing wine, and even the bus fiasco didn't damper anyone's moods! there was enough food to feed a million people, and everyone looked gorgeous, it was like the oscars or something! suffice to say, i don't really recall alot of drunk people at the party, or maybe people just knew how to handle their alcohol. georges and anna were soooooo funny, when those two are drunk, they just won't stop jabbering! little jenny got wine on her dress....again, she does it every year! but it wasn't very terrible at all, just just doused her dress in water and it was good to go. alot of the cast of blood brothers were there and i wish we got a picture of us all, but we were so widely dispersed, i'm just glad i even saw them!

in terms of pictures, yes i have them, i just need to have them developed. of course, the symposium is tonight as well, so i'll get pictures of those. oh man, i'm wayyyy too busy. after this week i vow that i'm going to vegetate in my bed for a whole weekend!

Thursday, March 18, 2004

i'm sooooo tired....sleeeeeeeep....
is not available at this moment. flo bought the most amazing pair of shoes i've ever seen, they're gorgeous and she's gonna knock her boy out of his socks. and me? well my boy's gonna have to content with a tired girl.

just incase no one's figured it out, but my two biggest pet peeves are ppl setting me up with people and people lying to me. the setting people up one bothers me a whole lot because i'm not a person lacking in social skills and i really don't see why i "NEED" help with anything at all. if i like someone i will go and talk to them, i don't need anyone else sticking their nose in and giving me their two cents. as for the lying part, that should speak for itself. i don't like people telling me they'll do something with me and then turning around to do the exact opposite of what they told me. i just don't respect that.

of course these people don't know who i'm talking about, and i'm not about to divulge here, oh no...i'm just going to make a mental note of this and move on, just take people with a grain of salt. and of course, i'm procrastinating YET AGAIN. how lovely.

Wednesday, March 17, 2004

this is sooooooo weird. the past couple of days has gone by in a blur and it's been drama upon drama upon drama. i think i'm going to combust soon.

formal is a drama in itself. it shouldn't be, yet every year it happens. let's put it his way. i do not condone people setting up people...it's not allowed...but what happens? figure it out yourself. and not only that, but the formal committee is running around like a chicken with it's head cut off...not fun.

then there's the spring elections...apparently i had no idea what i was getting myself into by applying for CRO. apparently there's this unspoken rule that people are going to be asses and just shit disturb like there's no tomorrow. unfortunately for me, many people have taken it upon themselves to tell me how i should run the show. hmmmm, maybe THEY should have applied. i have two words for them...."FUCK OFF", it's my job and i'll run it the way i see fit, if you have a VALID problem, come talk to me nicely, otherwise stop wasting my precious fucking time.

boys are ruining my life. i've had so many run-ins with them this week and it isn't even over. i'm tired of them. i need a break, for real. yet i can't even do THAT. i have to continually see boys until maybe after the symposium this sunday, and then that's when i go into hibernation to do work....maybe.

oh wow, before i forget....i ran into jacob and AVA today! it was soooooo weird! who knew that jacob and ava would know each other? and then they were so excited that everyone knew each other, and i was just excited period because i haven't seen ava since.....since last year? oh wow, too long...too much excitement....i'm going to combust!

and now i'm SUPPOSED to be working on my lab report, but oh no, of course i'm procrastinating....

i'm tired.

Sunday, March 14, 2004

and so...another chapter of my life has closed...

we had our last show last night, and for the first time ever, i wanted to do another two shows....but we ALL know how insane an idea that would be, so i guess it's good that it's done. everyone loved the show and i'm glad! i think it was really well organized (in the end! hahahaha) and laura was so sweet, she had flowers for us backstage people and because it was completely unexpected...it made it even better! i'm going to miss the cast sooooo much!!!!

i'm so excited! i met up with a bunch of random people today and made a new friend! her name is karis and she's been in the circus for 10 years! it was really cool because we totally hit it off and even after everyone else had left, we took the subway together and continued chatting! that's wayy too cool! and to make the world even smaller, she always hangs out at chris' JD's because she goes to ryerson and likes to study and eat there! so i'll probably be meeting up with her to hang out! ;p

the only thing that makes this weekend not so fun is the fact that i have to study for tomorrow's test. ugh...another bellringer. the only good thing is that it's on australopithecines and not on the early miocene anymore. the bad thing is that there will probably be other extant ape stuff to confuse me!!!!!!

procrastination is the way to go! this is why i'm sitting in kelly library blogging!

i need to take a nap.

Wednesday, March 10, 2004

grace dear, all signs are pointing to...forget about the Crush.

Monday, March 08, 2004

as my msn name states: dottie is a busy busy girl
why dottie? no idea...just a random floating free thought in my head that my fingers typed out...hahahahahaha!

anyway, a recap of this weekend:
friday
after work (which was stressful because i was so nervous...) we had our first performance of blood brothers....honestly, it was AMAZING...i think we got all the bad stuff out at the rehearsal! everyone loved it, and it's going down in my books! the cast went out to tobey's after for $0.99 burgers (a rip-off cuz you have to buy the fries too) and we all had a blast, especially since it seems were getting off on a high...

saturday
unfortunately i had work in the morning, and especially since i was out so late that morning i was quite tired, but oh well. the 2nd performance was just as good, although i don't think my playing was as good as the first night. we went out to the karaoke bar after and man, it was funny to see the regulars at that bar. funny....yet also kinda sad...you see these guys sitting in the corners by their lonesome and they're taking shots before they go up to sing the saddest songs in the world. one guy sang billy joel's piano man and that got us all rowdy! whooo!

sunday
you think i had a day of rest? try again!

went to the raptors game with my family (and no, my mom doesn't cheer...i don't think she understood the game, but that's alright) where they played a SICK game: 84-76...sweet! BUT...before the game, we went to marche for brunch, and we sat at a table right next to....mike bullard...ahahahaha...that's right...he was there for brunch, and it was funny because i noticed right away and he waved at me! ;p

oh...what else? i've done absolutely no homework this whole weekend, and i am thus screwed.

Friday, March 05, 2004

i need to take up smoking weed....really....

the dress rehearsal was a DISASTER. the stage lights weren't working so we didn't start until at least 8:45pm...we weren't even into our very first song before mark accidently tripped over the piano (keyboard) light and broke the lightbulb...so we had to stop and clean up that mess. THEN after we stuck a new bulb into the lamp, the bulb....exploded....yes, i mean what i just wrote...it EXPLODED. pieces of glass everywhere, and smoke rising from the lamp...it was completely unreal and i was so shocked because i was standing RIGHT IN FRONT OF IT. i'm surprised i didn't cut or anything, i was THAT close. people kept forgetting lines and missing cues, even missing musical numbers and ugly shoes. i'm just crossing my fingers that we've gotten all the problems out TODAY, and that the next 4 shows will be better....

today was a spectacularly busy day. wasn't planning on going to work, but eva really needed me so i went in at 10am. OH!, what did she want me to do? play the little errand girl! ugh...oh well, i get PAID for it...THEN i had to walk over to the other side of campus to get an important document, but of course it wasn't done, and when it FINALLY DID get done, the paper was unprofessional and then it was like "whatever". let's put it this way....i was NOT impressed, and saddened by the nonchalent attitude taken on for something that i find so serious and important to me.

BUT....going dress window shopping with anna and simone was great fun. i think we've definitely found simone's little classic black dress, although it's still $180...ouch...

what do you think if lola and guy starts going out?

so apparently i'm going incoherent, and i might have work tomorrow. peachy.

Sunday, February 29, 2004

"People love each other for all sorts of different reasons. Most of the time we're loved for what we can do rather than for who we are. It's not such a bad thing, being loved for what you can do."
"But the other is better"
"Better. I hate to say better, but it is. If someone loves you for what you can do then it's flattering, but why do you love them? If someone loves you for who you are then they have to know you, which means you have to know them."

this is the best part of the book i just finished reading. Bel Canto by Ann Patchett, it's also the winner of the Orange Prize, winner of the Pen/Faulkner award and a National Book Critics Circle Award Finalist. i personally don't care whether or not it won prizes, i think it's amazing....although the ending was quite shocking (ok, well not really) and REALLY sad. but i haven't enjoyed a good book in a long time (well, that's also because i haven't really had time to myself...i had to read this on my subway rides to and from school) and this is really good! definitely recommendable!

i'm actually getting pretty psyched for our musical that's on showcase these upcoming two weeks. BLOOD BROTHERS! march 5, 6, 12 & 13 in sam sorbara hall. tickets are $7 for students and $10 for adults! we're actually looking and sounding like a real production! this cheers me up greatly because i felt so awful that i sucked, but maybe i don't! the only thing is that rehearsals are excruciatingly LONG...oh well, part of the packaged deal! but seriously people, this show is GOOD! it's not dramatic, but rather fun, light and comedic...well, there's a dark part but still, it's tons of shits and giggles!

mom made cookies and ames' immediately informed me of them when i got home tonight. damn it. there goes my resolution to keeping away from junk food!

Friday, February 27, 2004

the shit has hit the fan...

this has been by far the most distressing week of 2004.
to make a very long and painful week short...these are my "highlights":
MONDAY:
- having my boss call me THREE times in the early morning (7am, 7:10am and 7:45am) while i'm freaking about my bellringer
- a dreadfully long bellringer that everyone is sure to have failed (you know i've lost my senses when i start laughing in the middle of the test because there's nothing else i can do...)

TUESDAY:
- falling into mud puddles and nearly falling down stairs
- half-assed assignment finished not 10 mins before it's handed in....
- and getting back a test...(that should be self-explanatory)
- late night study group
- forgetting chris was working at JD's and just went home

WEDNESDAY:
- frustrated with the lack of lab structure for ANT429...not really paying attention to the australopithecines...maybe because i'm...
- wanting desperately to get high for my bioethics test
- too tired to go to groove nation
- almost falling asleep in ant204 (which is a crime in itself because i LIKE this class)
- wanting to go straight home and falling into my lovely bed, but OH NO....let's go to eglinton to pick up my sister, where we wait for over 45 mins...i COULD have been home sooooo much more earlier!

THURSDAY:
- work sucks...i hate my job...the only good thing is that the work-study period ends next week...the bad thing is that since i've "padded" my hours to get the maximum amount of money out of this job...i won't be done until i finish those hours...*sigh*
- i hate my boss' boss...i think that's why i don't like my job anymore
- spent over an hour filling out my time sheets...and i get PAID to waste my time doing this
- hahaha, i think this is the best one yet...let's put it this way...i haven't failed a test since first year...
- BUT, i've dropped at least one course every year
- tarik stood me up
- oh, did i mention how much i suck at being the piano accompanist for smc's musical? riiiight, so i totally suck at it.

FRIDAY:
- for f***'s sake, i don't really care which william ross is deceased!
- i've been drinking WAYYYYY too many starbucks tazo chai's. i have a hole in my bank account the size of north america (i hate corporations...i need to make my OWN chai teas with soy)
- why is everyone done their 200 hrs but me?!?!?!?!

ok, sooo i'm getting whiney here...there HAVE been some good stuff over the week, such as going out to chinese food, sushi, pizza (ok, getting on a food track here); seeing simone try on the most gorgeous dress in the world (which also happens to be $200); and running into lots of my life sci guy friends who i haven't seen since first year (conrad, dominic, john, mark...who are also the same guys that are geniuses and getting accepted into all these medical schools)

whoa, i'm getting distracted...

Tuesday, February 24, 2004

my stress level is SOOOO high that i'm convinced that i've gone nuts.

i fell TWICE today...that's right...the first time i fell into a wet mud puddle right in front of hart house, and flo had to pick me up, lead me to the girls washroom, and helped me wipe my ass off....mind you, i wasn't as embarrassed as i was laughing my ass off...it was 1pm and there were people streaming around everywhere and there was this guy who was concerned yet trying not to laugh in my face, and i turned around and announced "there might be a second viewing later this afternoon!"...it's a good thing i don't have much pride...that would have definitely bruised it! ;p

riiiight...so there actually WAS a second viewing of me falling, but not into another puddle...i tripped on the stairs at kelly as i was going down the stairs...and i nearly brought simone down with me as well...that was actually more of a really bad scare then anything at all. i think i'm going to stop wearing heels for awhile...or maybe while i'm not getting enough sleep...

i want to cry.

we just finished a reading week, and i don't think i knew we had one. today's ANT429 test has left my mind in shambles and i don't know if i have the stamina to finish the rest of this week.

my boss is being annoying right now....this is NOT the time to be bothering me about WORK...for god's sake, i'm in a WORK-STUDY job and right now i need to STUDY. i really don't like this job anymore, and i really want to quit...but i've only got one more month left, so i guess i'll hold out a while longer....

shit, sociolinguistics isn't waiting for me...
