thanks to ben who had me laughing off my ass for at least 5 mins....flabbergasted...

FLABBERGASTED

To be surprised or astonished.

The British comedian Frankie Howerd used to say in mock astonishment: “I’m flabbergasted—never has my flabber been so gasted!”. That’s about as good an explanation for the origin of this word as you’re likely to get. It turns up first in print in 1772, in an article on new words in the Annual Register. The writer couples two fashionable terms: “Now we are flabbergasted and bored from morning to night”. (Bored—being wearied by something tedious—had appeared only a few years earlier.) Presumably some unsung genius had put together flabber and aghast to make one word.

The source of the first part is obscure. It might be linked to flabby, suggesting that somebody is so astonished that they shake like a jelly. It can’t be connected with flapper, in the sense of a person who fusses or panics, as some have suggested, as that sense only emerged at the end of the nineteenth century. But flabbergasted could have been an existing dialect word, as one early nineteenth-century writer claimed to have found it in Suffolk dialect and another—in the form flabrigast— in Perthshire. Further than this, nobody can go with any certainty.

after this, my sister and i started looking up some other words...these are HILARIOUS! (yes, we're geeks...)

fo' shizzle my nizzle

"fo shizzle ma nizzle" is a bastardization of "fo' sheezy mah neezy" which is a bastardization of "for sure mah nigga" which is a bastdardization of "I concur with you whole heartedly my African american brother"

OR

For sure, my nigga. Should only be used by a black person, to a black person - unless you want your ass kizzled. Variations acceptable for use by whitey include:

fo' shizzle my sizzle = For sure, my sister.
fo' shizzle my bizzle = For sure, my brother.
Yes sir, Suge sir. Right away sir. = Please Suge, don't kill me.

Whitey 1: Hey man, are you going to the club tonight?
Whitey 2: Fo' shizzle, my bizzle. Right after I watch the game on my televizzle.
Whitey 1: Sorry Suge sir, don't kill him.

dumps like a truck

A large booty. From dump truck: a vehicle with a large area for hauling things. It's just the woman-car metaphor with another twist. see junk in the trunk, badonkadonk

That girl got dumps like a truck, yo!

badunkadunk

a dick-bouncin, dynamic booty, that defies the laws of physics and reminds men why we wanna be dogs or an urban term used to define approval of the voluptuous curvature of a feminie rump.

We snapped our necks 'round, lost the beat of the funk, and laid our eyes upon Maryjane's beautiful badunkadunk.

The posterior of the female anatomy when concerning the homosapien species. In which the diameter of the said posterior is not to exceed 50 inches but not to go below 40 inches. Equally as important the owner of the badunkadunk must possess a waist line no larger than 2/3 the diameter of the badunkadunk.

Noun: She has a nice badunkadunk
Verb: Her ass seems to be badunkadunking

weapon of ass destruction

A loud, stinky room-clearing fart that often leaves a skid-mark in the farter's underpants. Usually the result of eating greasy food.

Goddam, Bob! Lay off the chilli! I can smell that Weapon of Ass Destruction all the way down the hall!

Gay slang for an exceptionally large penis, so named because of its tendency to cause anal bleeding during buggery. (see also dumdum bullet)

Hello Mr Archer, welcome to Belmarsh Prison. Your cellmate is Mad Mickey McPerve, i'd be very wary of him if i were you, he has a weapon of ass destruction, and he's not afraid to use it.

hahahahaha....ok, now i gotta finish my report...

i would like to take this time to say how much i appreciate people. to my dear friend, ellan, thank you so much for taking the time to meet up with me and lend me your digital camera to take pictures. without ellan, i would have nothing, and my lab report would be shot to hell. however, due to my inability to take pictures, a lot of them came out really bright and white, and the detail was lost on a lot of them. so i was still kind of freaking out....this is where warren comes to the rescue! this amazing kid sent me an email with the url to some of his own pictures, and let me tell you, i almost cried. (well, that and plus i'm so tired....up late on the phone last night....hahahahaha...that's a story to be saved for another time...hahahaa)

Thursday, April 08, 2004

i just sent my phone in to get the antennae fixed...now i have a ghetto large flip phone...cool! hahahaha. i also don't know how to get the salt out of my jeans from the winter (it's obvious i don't wear these jeans often...) and so now i'm sporting a new style of having salt stains on the back of my jeans....hahahaha, oh brother.
wow, this japan thing is going to be sooooo totally cool! now that i've found out that chris, cass and michelle are going as well, it will definitely make the trip alot more fun! i'll probably spend the first week with liz and her golden week doing stuff that she hasn't done yet, and then when the trio gets into tokyo we'll go all out (well, unless cass pulls her 'princess complex' and then we'll all have to stay in tokyo and help her find her future japanese husband at the shopping malls and clubs....yech)

the only bad thing is that when i get back, i'll be poor beyond belief...hahahahaaa....i guess moving out will have to wait another year....well, unless i get a good job that pays a lot more then i'm getting now....hmmmm

SCHOOLS OUT!
nyah nyah! i finished my second final last night, and i think it went well considering i knew the answers to the questions and that's always a good thing! it turned out that the test wasn't as hard as thought it would be, and i did well on the essay (well, minus the 6% late penalty...boooo)

went out with simone and rich for drinks at o'gradys and uri and ben stopped by...good times! *wink wink* (that one's for you, flo...hahahahaha) 2 hot guys, too much to handle! hahahaha

Wednesday, April 07, 2004

oh, i wish i were an oscar meyer weiner...

if i was an oscar meyer weiner right now, i wouldn't have to study for my final...hmmmm....
studying sucks ass. the good thing is that stuff is sinking in and the content is so incredibly interesting and great. the bad thing is that i'm not nearly done with my lecture notes (i was hoping that by this time i'd be done so that i could go through my textbook....but oh well, there goes my A) but i'll be done by 6pm tonight.

wish me luck!

tarik, you better be waiting for me after class you bastard....hahahahahaha

Monday, April 05, 2004

i was up until 4am this morning studying for my final bellringer and i got up at 7:30 am to go over to shelly's and study a little bit more before i had at it 10am. brutal. the good thing is that this time, the test didn't seem quite as hard (hmm....maybe because i studied so much at the last minute??!?!? or maybe it's because they're on homo specimens and i just find them so much more interesting...hahahaha)

right before the final, shelly and i were joking about feeling ppl's occipital buns...hahaha...except that it's not what you think it is, and anatomically modern human beings don't have them...hahahaha. as well, we rehashed the "tofu" date for nicole and this really cute guy was standing right next to me, and he totally couldn't stop laughing. and he likes tofu too! i think i've started a new dating trend! hahahahaha!

so now i'm at home and going to nap now. oh, don't be fooled by the sunshine, the wind cuts like a knife...

i really wanted to blog on thursday right after i got off of the subway...

the train was leaving summerhill and heading towards rosedale when the train conductor's voice is heard: "attention all subway passengers, i regret to inform you that all trains will be out of service from rosedale to dupont station..." you can literally hear the collective groan in the subway car, as well, i start swearing like a mofo and calculating that walking from rosedale isn't REALLY that far from the library.... "all today, tomorrow, maybe next week, maybe the next couple of months..." by this time i realize that this is too awful to be possible and then two words flash in my head and i turn to simone and say: APRIL FOOLS! "happy april fools everyone!" now everyone is all relieved and smiling, and yes it was a great joke because everyone had a heartattack, but no one died. i was so excited about this, that as we got off at wellesley, i turned and waited for the train to go by and told the conductor that it was an awesome joke!

my cousin, lanthia, just had a girl! her name is krystal and she's the most adorable thing in the world! lachlan sent me some pictures and he's calling her "little monkey". i wish i could see them, hmmm....maybe i'll go to australia next year.....

oh and i've got pictures! of course i'm too lazy to scan them in and stick them on the website, so you'll have to wait another week or so before i have enough time to be able to procrastinate.

Wednesday, March 31, 2004

i don't know what's wrong with me. i've been sleeping so many hours for the past couple of days, yet i'm still so tired! i've been so tired that i've actually been able to fall asleep in some of my classes. i think i just don't care anymore. yech.

i couldn't stop laughing when i read this. it's the funniest story ever! ;p

anyway, kelly's korner is tonight, and i'm not going to it because i have to go home and sleep. My stomach keeps rumbling and since i'm sitting in the library....it's not that fun....especially when the guy sitting right next to me just let out the biggest sneeze ever.

Sunday, March 28, 2004

wow, talk about coming off of a high...

just got home from the peel pub on college where SMCSU had their last celebration of the old council. why was i there? hahaha, because i was the CRO for the tumultanous elections and they all wanted me there! how it feels to be loved! mind you, i got soooo buzzed on beer and we were all laughing and were being really nutty...

and then you come home to the awful news of cecelia's death...

C- may you rest in peace

it's times like these, when you wonder why people believe in god...

Friday, March 26, 2004

i finished my essay in 5 hrs and handed it in. whoa that's a crazy run. although, the bad news is that i obviously didn't read the course notes because now it says i have to get it to the T.A. and i don't know her email...how screwed am i? ahhhhhh.

anyway, i'm exhausted
ahhhh....the dramatic elections has finally come to a close (okok, knock on wood, we all know the candidates MIGHT appeal...but we also know they most likely won't....) the point is, IT'S OVER.

tension was high, and tempers were raging...ppl were quite impatient with the time it took to count ballots (about 7 hours of non stop counting...how exhausting) and then afterwards they wanted me to go out partying....yeah riiiiiight....although i did stop off at mullins to say hi and congrats!

unfortunately, neither of my essays are done although i may have a fair chance of finishing one tomorrow. i guess that means i should check in with my bed.

Wednesday, March 24, 2004

i have 2 essays due today, and neither one is even close to being done....maybe because neither one has been even been worked on. this is NOT good. i'm too tired and stressed, so much that i don't even really care anymore. you know it's bad when i'm calculating late penalty marks.

those election mofos are getting a hit placed on them after elections. this one candidate had the audacity to question my judgement AND THEN my authoritative power over a ballot box. he made me sooooo angry, i wanted to hit him...in fact, i don't think i'd ever been put in a position where i was completely speechless for over 30 secs. i can't believe how this guy even got to me. he made me so completely unsure of myself and my decisions and thank god joe figs came over and calmed me down enough to show me that i still completely sane and that he's going to kick that guys ass to the moon and back.

off a different tangent...went out for our tuesday lunch with simone, and she brought this really hot guy, rich, with her. the funny thing is that i've actually met him before, in my first year eco100 class, and this was the SAME GUY that i had gone up to, and told him he had "gorgeous eyes". wow, how embarassing...hahahahahahaaaa....for him! hahahaha. (i have no shame!) we had the greatest time, and now rich thinks i'm coocoo...but that's ok, because i really think i've lost it.

Tuesday, March 23, 2004

wow, i just finished my anthro-linguistics assignment. man was that some tedious work extracting and coding the raw data for 2 english kids from york. it was a cool assignment because we were looking at the use of "be-like" before quotatives in english, as well as "say", "think", "go" and the zero quotative...but i am sooooo tired now. and needless to say...i need to start my bioethics essay tomorrow morning as it's due...hahahaha...WEDNESDAY...along with my social cultural paper...which i probably won't hand in until thursday....i'd rather take a 3% hit then a 5% hit. ah....the pressures of essays....

in other news...i checked out the pictures from the cssu formal. flo looks so gorgeous it's unbelievable...and sadly enough, yes everyone looked lovely, but i still believe that the st. mike's formal is better simply because the girls seem to dress fashionably better....just MY point of view...heh heh heh...

anyway, i'm going to crash now.

Sunday, March 21, 2004

i wasn't planning on blogging....i have 6 billion things going on and i really don't have time to do this. but after reading flo's blog, she made me so excited that i have to say this: i got a corsage too! it was a gorgeous white orchid and it matched my dress perfectly! there was no dancing for me because the heels on my shoes were soooo high that i couldn't even walk properly (but they did look very nice! ;p ah the things girls do to look good!) , but brendan and i did sit in the front hall and talk to everyone who was going into and out of the washrooms!

the cocktail party was a huge success, so many people came out for the free flowing wine, and even the bus fiasco didn't damper anyone's moods! there was enough food to feed a million people, and everyone looked gorgeous, it was like the oscars or something! suffice to say, i don't really recall alot of drunk people at the party, or maybe people just knew how to handle their alcohol. georges and anna were soooooo funny, when those two are drunk, they just won't stop jabbering! little jenny got wine on her dress....again, she does it every year! but it wasn't very terrible at all, just just doused her dress in water and it was good to go. alot of the cast of blood brothers were there and i wish we got a picture of us all, but we were so widely dispersed, i'm just glad i even saw them!

in terms of pictures, yes i have them, i just need to have them developed. of course, the symposium is tonight as well, so i'll get pictures of those. oh man, i'm wayyyy too busy. after this week i vow that i'm going to vegetate in my bed for a whole weekend!

Thursday, March 18, 2004

i'm sooooo tired....sleeeeeeeep....
is not available at this moment. flo bought the most amazing pair of shoes i've ever seen, they're gorgeous and she's gonna knock her boy out of his socks. and me? well my boy's gonna have to content with a tired girl.

just incase no one's figured it out, but my two biggest pet peeves are ppl setting me up with people and people lying to me. the setting people up one bothers me a whole lot because i'm not a person lacking in social skills and i really don't see why i "NEED" help with anything at all. if i like someone i will go and talk to them, i don't need anyone else sticking their nose in and giving me their two cents. as for the lying part, that should speak for itself. i don't like people telling me they'll do something with me and then turning around to do the exact opposite of what they told me. i just don't respect that.

of course these people don't know who i'm talking about, and i'm not about to divulge here, oh no...i'm just going to make a mental note of this and move on, just take people with a grain of salt. and of course, i'm procrastinating YET AGAIN. how lovely.

Wednesday, March 17, 2004

this is sooooooo weird. the past couple of days has gone by in a blur and it's been drama upon drama upon drama. i think i'm going to combust soon.

formal is a drama in itself. it shouldn't be, yet every year it happens. let's put it his way. i do not condone people setting up people...it's not allowed...but what happens? figure it out yourself. and not only that, but the formal committee is running around like a chicken with it's head cut off...not fun.

then there's the spring elections...apparently i had no idea what i was getting myself into by applying for CRO. apparently there's this unspoken rule that people are going to be asses and just shit disturb like there's no tomorrow. unfortunately for me, many people have taken it upon themselves to tell me how i should run the show. hmmmm, maybe THEY should have applied. i have two words for them...."FUCK OFF", it's my job and i'll run it the way i see fit, if you have a VALID problem, come talk to me nicely, otherwise stop wasting my precious fucking time.

boys are ruining my life. i've had so many run-ins with them this week and it isn't even over. i'm tired of them. i need a break, for real. yet i can't even do THAT. i have to continually see boys until maybe after the symposium this sunday, and then that's when i go into hibernation to do work....maybe.

oh wow, before i forget....i ran into jacob and AVA today! it was soooooo weird! who knew that jacob and ava would know each other? and then they were so excited that everyone knew each other, and i was just excited period because i haven't seen ava since.....since last year? oh wow, too long...too much excitement....i'm going to combust!

and now i'm SUPPOSED to be working on my lab report, but oh no, of course i'm procrastinating....

i'm tired.

Sunday, March 14, 2004

and so...another chapter of my life has closed...

we had our last show last night, and for the first time ever, i wanted to do another two shows....but we ALL know how insane an idea that would be, so i guess it's good that it's done. everyone loved the show and i'm glad! i think it was really well organized (in the end! hahahaha) and laura was so sweet, she had flowers for us backstage people and because it was completely unexpected...it made it even better! i'm going to miss the cast sooooo much!!!!

i'm so excited! i met up with a bunch of random people today and made a new friend! her name is karis and she's been in the circus for 10 years! it was really cool because we totally hit it off and even after everyone else had left, we took the subway together and continued chatting! that's wayy too cool! and to make the world even smaller, she always hangs out at chris' JD's because she goes to ryerson and likes to study and eat there! so i'll probably be meeting up with her to hang out! ;p

the only thing that makes this weekend not so fun is the fact that i have to study for tomorrow's test. ugh...another bellringer. the only good thing is that it's on australopithecines and not on the early miocene anymore. the bad thing is that there will probably be other extant ape stuff to confuse me!!!!!!

procrastination is the way to go! this is why i'm sitting in kelly library blogging!

i need to take a nap.

Wednesday, March 10, 2004

grace dear, all signs are pointing to...forget about the Crush.

Monday, March 08, 2004

as my msn name states: dottie is a busy busy girl
why dottie? no idea...just a random floating free thought in my head that my fingers typed out...hahahahahaha!

anyway, a recap of this weekend:
friday
after work (which was stressful because i was so nervous...) we had our first performance of blood brothers....honestly, it was AMAZING...i think we got all the bad stuff out at the rehearsal! everyone loved it, and it's going down in my books! the cast went out to tobey's after for $0.99 burgers (a rip-off cuz you have to buy the fries too) and we all had a blast, especially since it seems were getting off on a high...

saturday
unfortunately i had work in the morning, and especially since i was out so late that morning i was quite tired, but oh well. the 2nd performance was just as good, although i don't think my playing was as good as the first night. we went out to the karaoke bar after and man, it was funny to see the regulars at that bar. funny....yet also kinda sad...you see these guys sitting in the corners by their lonesome and they're taking shots before they go up to sing the saddest songs in the world. one guy sang billy joel's piano man and that got us all rowdy! whooo!

sunday
you think i had a day of rest? try again!

went to the raptors game with my family (and no, my mom doesn't cheer...i don't think she understood the game, but that's alright) where they played a SICK game: 84-76...sweet! BUT...before the game, we went to marche for brunch, and we sat at a table right next to....mike bullard...ahahahaha...that's right...he was there for brunch, and it was funny because i noticed right away and he waved at me! ;p

oh...what else? i've done absolutely no homework this whole weekend, and i am thus screwed.

Friday, March 05, 2004

i need to take up smoking weed....really....

the dress rehearsal was a DISASTER. the stage lights weren't working so we didn't start until at least 8:45pm...we weren't even into our very first song before mark accidently tripped over the piano (keyboard) light and broke the lightbulb...so we had to stop and clean up that mess. THEN after we stuck a new bulb into the lamp, the bulb....exploded....yes, i mean what i just wrote...it EXPLODED. pieces of glass everywhere, and smoke rising from the lamp...it was completely unreal and i was so shocked because i was standing RIGHT IN FRONT OF IT. i'm surprised i didn't cut or anything, i was THAT close. people kept forgetting lines and missing cues, even missing musical numbers and ugly shoes. i'm just crossing my fingers that we've gotten all the problems out TODAY, and that the next 4 shows will be better....

today was a spectacularly busy day. wasn't planning on going to work, but eva really needed me so i went in at 10am. OH!, what did she want me to do? play the little errand girl! ugh...oh well, i get PAID for it...THEN i had to walk over to the other side of campus to get an important document, but of course it wasn't done, and when it FINALLY DID get done, the paper was unprofessional and then it was like "whatever". let's put it this way....i was NOT impressed, and saddened by the nonchalent attitude taken on for something that i find so serious and important to me.

BUT....going dress window shopping with anna and simone was great fun. i think we've definitely found simone's little classic black dress, although it's still $180...ouch...

what do you think if lola and guy starts going out?

so apparently i'm going incoherent, and i might have work tomorrow. peachy.

Sunday, February 29, 2004

"People love each other for all sorts of different reasons. Most of the time we're loved for what we can do rather than for who we are. It's not such a bad thing, being loved for what you can do."
"But the other is better"
"Better. I hate to say better, but it is. If someone loves you for what you can do then it's flattering, but why do you love them? If someone loves you for who you are then they have to know you, which means you have to know them."

this is the best part of the book i just finished reading. Bel Canto by Ann Patchett, it's also the winner of the Orange Prize, winner of the Pen/Faulkner award and a National Book Critics Circle Award Finalist. i personally don't care whether or not it won prizes, i think it's amazing....although the ending was quite shocking (ok, well not really) and REALLY sad. but i haven't enjoyed a good book in a long time (well, that's also because i haven't really had time to myself...i had to read this on my subway rides to and from school) and this is really good! definitely recommendable!

i'm actually getting pretty psyched for our musical that's on showcase these upcoming two weeks. BLOOD BROTHERS! march 5, 6, 12 & 13 in sam sorbara hall. tickets are $7 for students and $10 for adults! we're actually looking and sounding like a real production! this cheers me up greatly because i felt so awful that i sucked, but maybe i don't! the only thing is that rehearsals are excruciatingly LONG...oh well, part of the packaged deal! but seriously people, this show is GOOD! it's not dramatic, but rather fun, light and comedic...well, there's a dark part but still, it's tons of shits and giggles!

mom made cookies and ames' immediately informed me of them when i got home tonight. damn it. there goes my resolution to keeping away from junk food!

Friday, February 27, 2004

the shit has hit the fan...

this has been by far the most distressing week of 2004.
to make a very long and painful week short...these are my "highlights":
MONDAY:
- having my boss call me THREE times in the early morning (7am, 7:10am and 7:45am) while i'm freaking about my bellringer
- a dreadfully long bellringer that everyone is sure to have failed (you know i've lost my senses when i start laughing in the middle of the test because there's nothing else i can do...)

TUESDAY:
- falling into mud puddles and nearly falling down stairs
- half-assed assignment finished not 10 mins before it's handed in....
- and getting back a test...(that should be self-explanatory)
- late night study group
- forgetting chris was working at JD's and just went home

WEDNESDAY:
- frustrated with the lack of lab structure for ANT429...not really paying attention to the australopithecines...maybe because i'm...
- wanting desperately to get high for my bioethics test
- too tired to go to groove nation
- almost falling asleep in ant204 (which is a crime in itself because i LIKE this class)
- wanting to go straight home and falling into my lovely bed, but OH NO....let's go to eglinton to pick up my sister, where we wait for over 45 mins...i COULD have been home sooooo much more earlier!

THURSDAY:
- work sucks...i hate my job...the only good thing is that the work-study period ends next week...the bad thing is that since i've "padded" my hours to get the maximum amount of money out of this job...i won't be done until i finish those hours...*sigh*
- i hate my boss' boss...i think that's why i don't like my job anymore
- spent over an hour filling out my time sheets...and i get PAID to waste my time doing this
- hahaha, i think this is the best one yet...let's put it this way...i haven't failed a test since first year...
- BUT, i've dropped at least one course every year
- tarik stood me up
- oh, did i mention how much i suck at being the piano accompanist for smc's musical? riiiight, so i totally suck at it.

FRIDAY:
- for f***'s sake, i don't really care which william ross is deceased!
- i've been drinking WAYYYYY too many starbucks tazo chai's. i have a hole in my bank account the size of north america (i hate corporations...i need to make my OWN chai teas with soy)
- why is everyone done their 200 hrs but me?!?!?!?!

ok, sooo i'm getting whiney here...there HAVE been some good stuff over the week, such as going out to chinese food, sushi, pizza (ok, getting on a food track here); seeing simone try on the most gorgeous dress in the world (which also happens to be $200); and running into lots of my life sci guy friends who i haven't seen since first year (conrad, dominic, john, mark...who are also the same guys that are geniuses and getting accepted into all these medical schools)

whoa, i'm getting distracted...

Tuesday, February 24, 2004

my stress level is SOOOO high that i'm convinced that i've gone nuts.

i fell TWICE today...that's right...the first time i fell into a wet mud puddle right in front of hart house, and flo had to pick me up, lead me to the girls washroom, and helped me wipe my ass off....mind you, i wasn't as embarrassed as i was laughing my ass off...it was 1pm and there were people streaming around everywhere and there was this guy who was concerned yet trying not to laugh in my face, and i turned around and announced "there might be a second viewing later this afternoon!"...it's a good thing i don't have much pride...that would have definitely bruised it! ;p

riiiight...so there actually WAS a second viewing of me falling, but not into another puddle...i tripped on the stairs at kelly as i was going down the stairs...and i nearly brought simone down with me as well...that was actually more of a really bad scare then anything at all. i think i'm going to stop wearing heels for awhile...or maybe while i'm not getting enough sleep...

i have one more test this week, bioethics...and i went to the study group tee, ash and em were holding at kelly this evening after my sociolinguistics class (which btw...SUCKED MY ASS!!!)....i am SOOOO tired....

Monday, February 23, 2004

i want to cry.

we just finished a reading week, and i don't think i knew we had one. today's ANT429 test has left my mind in shambles and i don't know if i have the stamina to finish the rest of this week.

my boss is being annoying right now....this is NOT the time to be bothering me about WORK...for god's sake, i'm in a WORK-STUDY job and right now i need to STUDY. i really don't like this job anymore, and i really want to quit...but i've only got one more month left, so i guess i'll hold out a while longer....

shit, sociolinguistics isn't waiting for me...

how to date and blog
that's the title to one of blogger's little msg thingies...i thought that was hilarious!

so i'm back from the grave...so to speak. i've been so incredibly busy, and that really sucks considering that i've just finished reading week....are you serious? reading week just went by in a blink of an eye. wow....now for the update...

got up this morning at 8:30am and freaked out because i wanted to leave for downtown at 9am, and well...that just gave me half an hour to get ready...plus i was feeling really really groggy...(there's a story to why i'm tired...i'll get to it in a bit...) made good time and then went to the OISE building to get some articles for my pop culture paper (that i'm sooooo excited about writing...and NO that isn't sarcasm...i really am interested in the topic that i'm doing). GUESS WHAT?!?!?!? ed's alive! so yeh, stopped off at the rcm to get some tax receipts for my dad, and stopped off to say hi to ed. i miss him alot, and he misses us too! BUT, he's promised that he'll come see my musical, and when he does, he'll try to come on a day that the rest of the family will be going...yay!

went out for coffee with brendan later on this morning (ok, more like noon, but whatever), and that was fun cuz the last time i saw him was at the "cowboys and schoolgirls" party during winterfest, and that was AWHILE ago. he's been chillaxing and having some mad fun, and for that....i'm green with envy...

okok, so here's the scope on the last couple of days...

went up to blue mountain with the CS people...and it was a disaster and a half. someone overbooked the bus with people and equipment, and since we were on a MAGIC SCHOOLBUS....it took half an hour to sort it out. and then just before we got to the south base lodge...the bus found its front tire in a "MAGIC" snowbank...yeh, so no skiing for me...which was ok cuz chris came by and picked me up and it was all good.

so yeh, went to the haritun's farm...and let me stop now and gush about it's quaintness. it's a GORGEOUS farmhouse...fully modernized for a city girl like me, yet still full of little frills and dainty dishes and cutlery with cows and pigs on them...so cute and "doll-like." (hahahaha, i HAD to put that in cuz tim told me that his dad would have a cow if i said it...hahahaha) i ADORE their farm, and i'd love to go up again sometime in the near future! ;p

plus i got first hand experience of chris' cooking...and i must say that i love his food. a little bit on the rich side, but hey...as long as i don't have it everyday...(and if i continue going to the gym...) it's all good

right, on to the good part....watched "fight club" half drunk on baileys, and an episode of "curb your enthusiasm" and then had a sleepless night...hahahahaha....this is where i say...chris snores and then you ALL understand...hahahaha. long story short...i was only able to get any sleep when i kicked zen out of the family room to claim the couch...hahahahaha

they also have a wild turkey which they're plotting to kill, AND a very LARGE plot of land, that we went trekking in before i left to go home. do you know how good it is to be the first people to make tracks in the snow? (well, other then the millions of rabbit footprints that we saw) i love fresh white snow...and i'm glad i was able to see it this winter!

yeh well, back to smog and reality, but now i gotta study for my 2 tests and work on my assignment that's due as soon as i'm back at school...which sucks my ass, but you know....OH WELL

Sunday, February 15, 2004

even though i claim valentine's day is completely over-rated....i still enjoy a dozen long stemmed red roses, dinner at il fornello's, and baileys with chocolate-covered strawberries, whipped cream....and a fireplace! ;p

friday night dancing at ice lounge was a disaster. the venue was too small for a smcsu AND utica party, and it obviously showed because when simone and i got there at around 10:15pm, there was a MASSIVE crowd infront of the club. the doors weren't even opened until after 10:30pm, so we snuck into the line with al, pat, justin and them, but then were redirected to the front of the line on the otherside of the ice lounge, and somehow managed to get in before the ppl standing at the front of the line who were there earliest! (for the record, the people at the front of the line included adrien...wink wink) AND THEN...we get into the club, but they wouldn't even let us coat check, so in the end...we stashed our jackets in a corner and hoped no one would go through it. (no one did...hahahaha)
the company that DID get through the doors were fun. georges and justin were high on SOMETHING...and georges even almost lost his id, but i found them and now he owes me! hahahaha. i even hurt my knee when i ran into a table when i saw ray...for the record...i have the biggest bruise on my knee now. it's purple and blue...hahahaha.

i'm reading this awesome book called sons of fortune by jeffrey archer. i love the fact that i can make time for myself to just sit and read something other then a textbook.

yay reading week!

Wednesday, February 11, 2004

i got tea-ed yesterday. went out for my regular sushi lunch with simone, uri and chris...and flung my arm out at the crucial moment when the tea was next to me...and got tea all down the back of my left pant...hahahahaha....and plus my pants are rolled cuz i'm short...and the tea collected in the little crevice....hahahahaha....the poor sushi lady was just horrified and went all crazy psycho about cleaning me up and everything...she's so cute! but i was good, just a little wet (but i dried off eventually) and sushi was still good!

the sociolinguistics test sucked my ass. well, i guess it really wasn't THAT bad...i just didn't like it. i don't know if i'm going to do well on it or not...but i guess that's up for grabs now, huh? and i guess it didn't help that the jazz band was practicing right next to our class during the test...and they aren't exactly any good...if you get my drift...

so i know i'm lazy when....i've been wearing the same hairstyle since monday morning...yes, it's pretty bad...i put my hair in a crazy pony bob and then i've left it there...i even went to sleep and got up...looked in the mirror, thought it looked alright (ok, i stuck a headband on)...added a bit of makeup to draw the attention away...hahahaha....geez! i'm busy studying!

anyway, going to be late for lab if i don't leave the house...

Dear Christina:

I think I found what the error was. I am thus going to change your
grade to 88. I have your student number but I need your college asap,
before noon if possible.

Take care,

MD

sweet! and yes, i'll give des credit for giving me this idea of telling everyone how our original marks were not at all what we deserved...i originally had a 76%, which really isn't a bad mark, but considering what i'm NOW going to get...hahahahahahahahaha!

i was judged today...the verdict? she's "absolutely delightful" ;p
so today is chris' mom's birthday, and i went out to mandarin for dinner with his mom, dad and tim. we spent 2 1/2 hrs there and it was just soooo much fun! tim is such a shit-disturber...can't and won't shut his trap... ;p i haven't been to mandarin in such a long time, and it's good to know that the food isn't bad at all. and the dessert was the BEST part! (and this can be taken in two different contexts...if you know what i mean...*wink wink*) hahahahaha.

saw EMBRACE last night at Isabel Bader Theatre, and it was such a great show. it's a modern dance show based on a collection of different dance routines. two of my friends are in that show, melissa lawless and melissa schuter. isn't that cute? they're both melissas! and the funniest thing was that they were NEVER in the same dance routine as the other! weird!

this is bad...i'm inhaling those cookies mom made that i would have NEVER known about if i hadn't read in ames' blog that she was eating them....and now i'm finishing them...AFTER mandarin...ugh....

i would like to take this opportunity to inform everyone that I had the broken blood vessel in my eye BEFORE juju did.
(and no i'm not gloating about it, i just want everyone to know that i'm a trendsetter hahahahaha....please excuse me, it's 1 am.

so my parents are going mental. i've NEVER worked harder in my life, yet they think i'm spending all my time carousing around town. seriously, i can never win. dad flipped on me this morning because he forgot ames' textbook at home and he wanted me to bring it to him at his office, which i normally would...except for two things...wednesdays are my crazy insane busy days....and i almost overslept this morning (well, mom woke me up in the middle of this weird dream i was having...something to do with me going to a movie theatre late, and by myself...and then this random guy sitting next to me just leaned over and started devouring my ear....chris swears it was him...but i really had no idea who it was, and i couldn't find out...well, because MOM WOKE ME UP!!!!!). and then i tried to explain this to dad, and he got all huffy. boo.

i had the most amazing conversation/discussion earlier this evening with chris about corporations and their takeovers and globalization. it was really good, we were both so excited about what we were saying, that a couple times it almost went into debate...except that i'm a sucker and not very good at debating at all...mostly because my ideas are constantly changing, and i'm easily swayed by a good debate. hahahaha.

school's been sucking my ass. had a really good rehearsal with annie crane yesterday at st. joes. and i've started studying for my two tests next week, which is GOOD...ant429 lab was good today, tarik slept in and i learned alot about early miocene hominoids...whooo! i only regret not being able to photocopy the reading sets...i really should get on that considering i have a test the monday after reading week. good god reading week is ONLY A WEEK LONG!

i'm too busy. but i think we all got the gist of that.

Sunday, February 01, 2004

well...

whatever the heck i had this week, it certainly took me down pretty badly. i've had some sort of cold for the past week, and although i still attended lectures, labs and ABT, (well, except for tuesday when they shut down the university cuz it was SNOWING...whatever...but i digress) i was pretty much a wreak. starting with achy bones last sunday, i KNEW i was getting something, but what i still have no clue. the whole week basically has been written off since i've had no zest (hahaha, for lack of a better word) for reading. i think it's my body telling me i've been doing WAYYYYY too much and it decided to shut down this weekend. i nearly died at work yesterday...a bloodvessel broke in my eye, and so my left eye was a network of angry red lines, AND i had to take out my contacts....oooooh....

the only good thing is that it snowed alot and this contributed to the more laxed situation, MIND you, i STILL went out tuesday, and stayed out till about 5:30pm (that's right....i had INCENTIVE at JD's...heehee...i don't know what you're all thinking about but i think it was the hot chocolate!)

even though i was dying friday night, i still went out with the sorbara 3rd floor boys, chris, and simone to le biftheque. the ribs were very large and plentiful, and i must say that alot of the guys did themselves justice by packing in two platefuls of ribs....wow...simone and i were the only girls there, and did we ever feel special! ;p i had forgotten how entertaining the guys are, and seeing them just made me miss their company even more. after dinner, chris and i walked with simone to meet up with uri, and then i proceeded to let the goddamn bug have a go at me.

on another note:

SMC drama society is presenting a musical called blood brothers in which i am to be playing the piano accompaniment with ray metts. there will be 5 shows, the first one is a preview by a select audience, and the rest are on 2 fridays and 2 saturdays. the dates of the shows are march 4, 5, 6, 12, and 13th of march starting at 7pm. great bunch of singers, i totally recommend everyone coming out to see this show (and it's not because i'm in it....ok....yes it is!) i don't know the price of the tickets yet, but i don't think it's going to be that expensive.

the smc formal will be held at the da vinci banquet hall on friday march 19th. on a hollywood glamour theme, it's $30 per person ($35 the week of) and this price includes: 2 bottle of wine for the table, 2 drink tickets, bus, and a cocktail party while waiting for the bus (i believe this is because dinner is being pushed past rush hour, and i of course am helping with the cocktail party with colin and avril, so of course it will be good!)

also, the smc symposium will also be held the same week as the formal, on sunday march 21st at in either fr. madden hall or sam sorbara hall. This year's theme is Vision for the Future of SMC and it's looking to be as good as last year's (when i ran it with flo, thanks very much) if not better (because this year, tee's running the show). Tickets are the usual, $5 for good food, free flowing wine (ok, don't take my word on that one...that was just last year) and sometimes even good entertainment! (hahaha, that's mostly if a heated debate goes on or something)

it's getting to be that time of year where i'm getting pretty burnt out. i am NOT looking forward to all this crap. did you know that february has the highest suicide rates of the year? i'm thinking it has something to do with the slugginess of the month, the lack of sun exposure is killing brain cells, as well as people. i have never had this much crap to do, and it's taking it's toll on me. and this is definitely not good, why? because most of this hasn't even HAPPENED yet...looking at my little pieces of calendar paper hurts...

no worries, all i need is some alcohol in my system, reading week (which there may or may not be reading done) and an eradication of this stupid bug that's living in my lungs...someone call the exterminator....

so it's apparently chinese new year... ??? hahaha, and i didn't even see mom until i just got home! she called at around 6pm and we were talking and then i said "oh, mom!" "what?" "happy new year!" "yeh yeh"....hahahahaha....ok, i thought it was funny...

my abs got the craziest workout today! first there was ABT, and then after class i met up with tarik and went to second cup to go over our notes for our 5% quiz on monday...(oooh, digression....the QUIZ is 5%...but it's TWO HOURS and made up of around 60 QUESTIONS...isn't U of T ridiculous???!?!?) and we did some nice hardcore studying for about an hour and half...and spent the next hour just talking/joking/laughing our asses off! this boy kills me! and to make things worse...his friend hashim came by and then i couldn't help falling off my chair every 2 seconds!

it's late, and i'm tired...i had a great day especially b/c i had a great waffle breakfast made by yours truly!...and then "fun in the sun!!" *wink**wink* (and btw, i KNOW you guys were waiting to read something like this...you know who you are...)

This is the art of cross-examination at its best. Enjoy.
WIFE: "What would you do if I died? Would you get married again?"

HUSBAND: "Definitely not!"

WIFE: "Why not - don't you like being married?"

HUSBAND: "Of course I do."

WIFE: "Then why wouldn't you remarry?"

HUSBAND: "Okay, I'd get married again."

WIFE: "You would? (with a hurtful look on her face)."

HUSBAND: (makes audible groan).

WIFE: "Would you sleep with her in our bed?"

HUSBAND: "Where else would we sleep?"

WIFE: "Would you replace my pictures with hers?"

HUSBAND: "That would seem like the proper thing to do."

WIFE: "Would you play golf with her?"

HUSBAND: "I guess so."

WIFE: "Would she use my golf clubs?"

HUSBAND: "No, she's left-handed."

WIFE: - - - silence - - -

HUSBAND: "Shit."

that's really interesting...i posted a blog...but it was cut off...and i'm too lazy to fix it so i deleted it...yet it's not really deleted...OH WELL.

i'm sooooo pissed off. who drinks all the water in the house? that's right...you KNOW who you are...and it's NOT ME. yet every friday...who's the person who has to haul these goddamn heavy cases of water into the house and into the basement? yep...you guessed it...LUCKY ME! *please note very very heavy sarcasm* and today was no exception...mom runs into the house (i thought for something important...but apparently to catch a chinese tv soap opera) and ames is studying in the basement....and i don't want dad to slip on the ice behind the car (b/c i KNOW that even if i warned him, he'll somehow do it anyway) so i'm bringing these CRATES in....skinned my knee b/c i had no one to help me open the door...now i know where the bruises come from...ugh...and i'm so upset because i HATE hurting myself...

whooo....done rant...

this is classic!

This is a great example of "did I say that out loud???

This happened at The University of Toronto (scar) last year. In a biology class, the professor was discussing the high glucose levels found in semen, which gives the sperm all the energy for their journey. A female freshman raised her hand and asked, "If I understand you correctly, you're saying there is a lot of glucose, as in sugar, in semen?" "That's correct," responded the professor, going on to add statistical info.

Raising her hand again, she asked, "Then why doesn't it taste sweet?" After a stunned silence, the whole class burst out laughing. The poor girl's face turned bright red, and as she realized exactly what she had inadvertently said (or rather implied), she picked up her books without a word and walked out of class, never to return. However, as she was going out the door, the professor's reply was classic. Totally straight-faced he answered her question. "It doesn't taste sweet because the taste buds for sweetness are on the tip of your tongue and not the back of your throat.

i have a lab from 9-1pm, class from 1-2pm, 2-3:30pm, groove nation from 4:30-5:30pm, class from 6-8pm and tutorial from 8-9pm. so why don't YOU tell me whether i can call the lab at 10am or not?

i am so seriously screwed i'm not even kidding. i've been doing nothing but working, eating, sleeping...and seeing...and i'm falling so behind in my readings! i think i need to take a weekend off and just read

i heard some big news last night...this just goes to show HOW out of the loop i am with the comings and goings of smc. yay for kirsten! ;p

Sunday, January 11, 2004

smc parties are always sooo good! many cowboys and schoolgirls out in full force! i took a couple a pictures, but until i finish the rest of the role, everyone must wait in line to see me in a school uniform...well, unless they were out with me tonight!
drama drama, i accidently upset someone and this distresses me. i'm hoping that it will somehow right itself, otherwise i will lose a friend for a very bad reason...

and yes flo, i got the popular schoolgirl one too. i'm too tired to post it up. nitey

Thursday, January 08, 2004

Sometime in September 2003:
ANT436H1 Primate Ecology & Social Behaviour (hmmm...sounds pretty good, i think i'll sign up for it)

today:
1. Mid-term test 25 %
2. Final test 25%
3. GRANT PROPOSAL 50%

1 & 2: There will be two tests, each 25% which account for 50% of your final grade. BOTH tests must be taken to pass the course.
3. A total of 50% of your final grade will come from your preparation of a research grant proposal similar to that for a "PGS A Post graduate Scholarship" from the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) of Canada. You must download and complete an abridged pdf version of Form 200 "Application for an NSERC Scholarship or Fellowship." This form must be completed using either a computer or typwriter, no hand-completed forms will be accepted.

Your research project must be field-based (ie. data collection on free-ranging primates and/or their habitats) and have an overall focus on one of the lecture topics listed below. Within that overall topic, you must select only one research question that can be completed for fulfillment of a hypothetical MASTER'S degree. Thus, you should pick a topic that can be completed with 2-4 months of field research. You can choose any primate species for your study animals. Please note that I expect you to also include your research site, data collection methods, and data analysis methods. Your proposal must address at least two questions or two alternative hypotheses.

(OMG.....i'm going to die....)

well other than this course, everything else seems pretty good. actually, that statement made it seem like this course is bull...it's not. it really looks good...just really overwhelming....and HARD. i bought some course books and the TWO books combined totalled even MORE then what i paid for my cd discman...

*sob* my poor bank account!

Wednesday, January 07, 2004

i'm officially frozen.

the basement office will give me pneumonia, it's soooooo cool! i can hear the wind howling outside and this morning, the bay st. wind nearly blew me over! the coffee i had this morning is tiding over well as i've done alot of stuff for eva this morning...yay, after this week and even possibly next week, i should be able to cut back on the hours i go to this hole!

oh shoot, now that i've thought about sleep, i'm tired...ugh. someone kept me up late this morning, you know who you are. you will pay dearly...i think i'm half an inch shorter because my jeans hem is cleaning the sidewalks of toronto.

time to plug for smcsu: winterfest begins today, the schedule is on smcsu.com, and there's going to be an awesome party on saturday...'cowboys and schoolgirls' hahahahaha!

Sunday, January 04, 2004

reverse psychology...
school begins again tomorrow....gah! i'm not finished doing nothing yet! although i guess it's only best because otherwise i'd continue spending a lot of money that i may not have! i don't even want to look at my bank account it's that bad...plus during the break, the hart house aerobics staff were also on break, so i desperately need to get back to groove nation and ABT! hahahaha!

i'm proud to say that i have done a lot more readings then i thought i would have done, although my downfall is in practicing for the musical...which is REALLY REALLY BAD because i just got an email today that i have rehearsal wednesday...uh oh!

after reading grace's blog, i decided to watch 'cold mountain' for myself and i went to see it with karen today. yes, i agree it's a good movie, but it also made me sad! a lot of bloodshed and bullet holes, and before i ruin the movie for anyone else who's planning on seeing it....it's SAD! oh, and i learned something new today....karen has SIX cats...and some of them are fat...

did you know cats can become depressed as well?

LORELAI: So, what's going on with Luke here?
SOOKIE: I don't know. I've been keeping my distance because of what happened.
LORELAI: What happened?
SOOKIE: Well, he was lying on the floor pretty much like that, tinkering with stuff back there, and I got down and leaned in to see what he was doing, and after a while, I realized that the whole time, my hand was on his butt.
LORELAI: Sookie!
SOOKIE: It was an accident.
LORELAI: It's getting very Cinemax at night in here.
SOOKIE: It was embarrassing.
LORELAI: Uh huh. So, how was it?
SOOKIE: His butt?
LORELAI: Yeah.
SOOKIE: It's got a nice shape to it.
LUKE: Will you two stop talking about my butt?

this winter break has gone by in such a whirlwind of news and excitement! there's been much catching up done with highschool girlfriends and seeing family members who forgot that i'm 21 years old and bought me a hot pink XXL turtleneck from GAP KIDS!

flo's birthday at the hot house cafe was the best as the sun was out in full force, shining while we were at harborfront...lots of pictures from that, thanks to matt and his camera!

i was really happy because i was able to get some readings done for school as well! tanaka and i went to the library for a couple days to get some stuff done, and that made me feel like i did something this holiday! and now i can party in peace tonight! whooo!!!

who said the partying's done?

i hope everyone has a fantastic NEW YEARS!

HELLO!

Merry Christmas everyone! xoxoxo!

Tuesday, December 23, 2003

oh man, i was just checking up on al's website and he's got a lot more of those halloween photos up and wow....i'm sooooo gone in some of them! i went and uploaded all of my pictures (because i now have this unknown concept of new-found freedom) and you can laugh at them, it's great!

i'm telling you ALL, i have started a new fad with those huge-ass earmuffs, matthew LOVED them. he literally took mine off and started wearing them on the street...plus flo had bought a pair of her own, and i had bought two more for simone and tanaks (that's right, i KNEW tanaka would love them) we basically looked soooo goofy walking along bloor street to meet up with robin, merrill, ben-jammin (gotta roll the shoulders when you say that name... ;p), and geordie. i miss the pol200 people so much! we used to have sooo much fun driving our T.A. nuts with our craziness, and how many times did we just randomly stand up and leave the lecture when it got boring? and our professor's HORRIBLE fashion sense! that was a joke and a half!

it's been so long since i've randomly walked the streets of the downtown area, it's quite refreshing...depending on the area. ben wandered around with me around the bloor area, and the little underground tunnels were full of people who all seemed to be in a rush to go somewhere important, so of course, we deliberately walked slowly and laugh at them. but later on that night when i was walking around spadina and queen, there was a real nice laziness in the air and it was quite fun, just randomly poking my head into little cute jewelery stores, and sketch bookstores.

which brings me to a little rant about shopping. i hate shopping at this time of the year. everything seems so rushed, and people seem to lose their sense of decorum and manners, just pushing and shooving and hurraghing...i hate the fact that christmas is so commercialized and everything is about BUYING something. you can't buy love. you can't buy happiness (although i know there are people out there that would contest). you can't buy all the time back that's been wasted doing god knows what. i don't know what all the rush is about. is it so important to spend cash on something for a person? i'd rather just go out and see people, and spend time with family and friends, maybe watch a movie, or catch up over coffee....that's so much more productive. too bad we can't have another black out like the one we had in the summer, although it would be a little bit more uncomfortable considering it IS coldER outside now.

well now, i guess i'm done the rant....and now that i've finished with that, i guess i'm done with this post as well.

i lied, i went and saw the mona lisa smile today, it was a good movie with tons of potential, but most of the characters were underdeveloped and the ending was quite unfullfilling. the whole movie centered julia roberts and in doing so, many great actresses (like julia stiles) seemed unimportant. oh well, maybe they want to come out with a sequel, which of course, will suck.

ok, now i'm really done. ;p

Monday, December 22, 2003

okok...i have 5 mins before i go off shopping, but i was reading ames' blog and her friend put up the funniest thing! My favorite one was the one with angel and legolas, but only people who watch Queer Eye would get the jokes!

Queer Eye for the Fandom Guy

A Fab Five Primer:

Carson = fashion
Kyan = grooming
Thom = décor
Jai = culture
Ted = food and drink

Subject one: Fox Mulder

THOM: Ohhhh-kay. For the record, you can make a coffee table out of almost anything: a door, an ottoman, old steamer trunks. You cannot make a coffee table out of stacks of porn videos.

MULDER: That̢۪s not a coffee table. It̢۪s just -- convenient.

TED : Guys, do NOT sit on the sofa. (Thom quickly begins covering the sofa in Saran Wrap.)

MULDER: Probably wise.

CARSON: Let̢۪s talk about this closet. I̢۪m not seeing anything too scary here. That̢۪s because I̢۪m only seeing one thing here. Tell me, Fox -- GREAT name -- what do you wear to work?

MULDER: Dark suit, conservative tie.

CARSON: What do you wear when you go out in the evenings?

MULDER: Like to meet informants? Dark suit, conservative tie.

CARSON: And for a date?

MULDER: Date?

THOM: The rest of the apartment is like some Soviet décor gulag -- but the bedroom is fantastic! Who did this for you? Because, let’s face it, you didn’t do this yourself.

MULDER: Kind of a weird story, really --

Subject two: Blair Sandburg

KYAN: Okay. You have chosen to wear your hair this way because -- why?

BLAIR: I don’t know. It’s always been curly. It’s this or white man’s ‘fro.

CARSON (sotto voce): And this is NOT white man’s ‘fro?

KYAN: Don’t get me wrong; I salute you for avoiding the ‘fro option. But you can’t just give up. You have to say, I’m willing to fight this. I’m READY to fight this.

BLAIR: I didn̢۪t think it was that bad.

KYAN: Science makes bold leaps forward in hair-care every day, Blair. Waxes. Spray starches. Japanese thermal straightening. We have the technology.

Subject three: Captain Jack Sparrow

CARSON: Okay, this is your normal everyday look? This isn̢۪t, like, terror drag?

JACK: Oh, this old thing. (Holds out the sleeves of his coat, tosses his hair.)

CARSON: Well, the good side is, you̢۪re not afraid to take chances. We can work with that.

TED: Come and take a look at the bar. We̢۪ve tried to provide a little more variety, a little more finesse -- some top-brand vodka for mixers, a nice brandy --

JACK: Where is the rum?

TED: Rum -- you know, rum̢۪s nice in a pina colada or something like that, but it̢۪s a little downscale, and if you̢۪ll just consider --

JACK (pulls out musket): We̢۪ll be putting the rum back, mate.

TED: And the rum goes back.

Subject four: Lex Luthor

KYAN: Looks like I̢۪m sitting this one out.

THOM: The stained glass, the statues -- I feel like I̢۪m visiting a museum, not hanging out at a friend̢۪s house.

LEX: I don̢۪t like my possessions stored away in vaults. Wealth isn̢۪t real unless you can see it. Unless you can feel it.

JAI (stares long and hard): Are you SURE you belong on this show?

LEX: Maybe.

CARSON (sticks his head in from the hallway): This man̢۪s closet is FULL of silk shirts in soft pastels and deep purple.

LEX: Okay. Maybe not.

Subject five: Legolas Greenleaf

KYAN: Most guys with long hair don̢۪t put in the time to condition properly, but you have, which is kind of the saving grace here.

LEGOLAS: Elves have no split ends. Our hair is, like the rest of our bodies, perfect and unchanging.

KYAN: Well, it̢۪s past time for changing, because this look hasn̢۪t been in since -- well, ever.

CARSON: Also, when you combine it with this outfit you̢۪ve got going? The overall effect is very Cathy Rigby as Peter Pan. Not sexy.

JAI (gestures toward the windows, which are lined with screaming girls, all clawing at the glass): I̢۪m not sure this guy has a big problem with that.

LEGOLAS smirks.

Subject six: Angel

The FAB FIVE stare.

KYAN: He uses product.

CARSON: The jacket, the pants, the shirt -- it all works.

THOM: Why are you even here?

ANGEL: Cordelia made me. She wants your autographs.

KYAN: It̢۪s like he̢۪s the One Straight Man foretold by prophecy.

ANGEL (grimaces): Please, no prophecies.

CARSON: For the first and only time, I̢۪m going to say it -- Don̢۪t change a thing.

ANGEL: Can I go now?

Subject seven: Magneto

JAI: Okay, I feel like you̢۪re giving off really hostile vibes. What is the image you̢۪re presenting to the world? What are you trying to communicate?

MAGNETO: That humanity̢۪s time is over, and that they will soon be crushed under my heel.

JAI: Negative, negative energy. You̢۪d be a lot happier if you̢۪d try something just a little lighter, a little more colorful. And so I thought we̢۪d start with your name. "Magneto" -- so harsh, and frankly, it sounds like you̢۪re trying just a bit too hard.

MAGNETO: I no longer wish to be known by my human name.

JAI: I get that. So I just want to show you -- we switch two letters around, and we get something so much brighter: "Magento."

MAGNETO: I̢۪m going to have to kill you all now.

CARSON: Not before you explain this helmet.

my kids love me!

i'd been getting christmas presents from them all day at the studio...i bought monica and patty the cutest set of coffee cups from first markham place, snoopy is cool! hello kitty....not so much...

oh yeh, so last night i went to see handel's messiah and there was this old guy who was sitting next to me, and he REEKED of alcohol and cigarettes...that was quite disturbing, AND he kept falling asleep, it was actually quite funny, he'd start off blinking ALOT, and then when i noticed that all motion was still, i turned my head and he was sleeping! monica scares me sometimes, during intermission she was telling patty that one of the 50 sopranos singing in the choir was too sharp, and that she had narrowed it down to 3 girls who could be singing too sharp! and i thought i had perfect pitch...this is what happens when you go on an outing with people from a music studio!
steve looks like a penguin in his suit.

the friday night dinner at le biftechque was quite good too. i was completely surrounded by CS people, and then there was matthew and jo, oh well, it's all about good food and good company! ;p you know you're at a CS party when the guys are totally getting a kick out of sticking an HP bottle in their pocket and pretending they've got a hard-on for the guy who's in the picture next to them! weird.

thursday, went to mama mia with my family, and you KNOW you bought the last seats cuz we were sitting in the LAST TWO CORNER rows...that's right, the two highest seats were occupied by my parents! but it was still really good, and now i'm rocking out to ABBA songs!

i'm still tired, i don't feel like i've got up, so i'm going to take a nap.

Saturday, December 20, 2003

i just got back from an amazing performance from the toronto symphony orchestra and the mendelssohn choir which steve szmutni, a fellow co-worker was singing with. i'm am SOOOO tired, and now i'm also cranky because a certain someone is being an ass, and you bet your ass you know who you are if you're reading this. if you're going to f***ing call, CALL, if not, don't make me stay up cuz i'm f***ing tired, and you KNOW i'm really pissed if i'm swearing.

i have so much to say, yet no zest. so good night.

oh, and i just did a test, i haven't done one of these in the longest times....got if off of des and jona's blog...wheeee...
Water
You are water. You're not really organic; you're
neither acidic nor basic, yet you're an acid
and a base at the same time. You're strong
willed and opinionated, but relaxed and ready
to flow. So while you often seem worthless,
without you, everything would just not work.
People should definitely drink more of you
every day.

just finished watching "down with love" with simone, what a great movie...all the little sexual innuendos!!! i love the 60's styles and i love ewan mcgregor....ahhhhhh

kensington was a blast! brendan took me to this really cool coffee shop where the beans are freshly grounded, and with the smell of fresh coffee and sketch people, it's great! and then we went eating at the little chinese restaurant south of college on spadina, before stopping by their place to see the cat.

oh, and plus mom lost her voice. i know, weird....she called from home, but when i answered, i thought she was in a library because she was whispering...everything was so funny! (well, i thought it was anyway)

you think you know people, but you always see different sides once you get to know them....and you'll NEVER EVER really get to know someone (unless it's family...or a really good friend/enemy)

edit

boys suck.

Monday, December 15, 2003

i love being free of studying, exams, papers.....school! after work today, i went with al to the lcbo to get georges his present...and i got him baileys (whooo baileys!) and then he insisted we each have a shot, before he went out to dinner with anna at the 360 (CN Tower) whooo anna! i think that was a really nice idea!

so here i am with a belly full of baileys (i know it was one shot, but i'm a cheap drunk!) and what do i do? i head off to hart house and study for about an hour or so (who does that? ME!), and then flo and i go out for crepes (she followed the music into this store...ahahahah, talk about advertising!) and starbucks coffee, which may have been a bad idea for this chick, if you know what i mean....we were like two crazy drunks on the subway, laughing our asses off, and we were totally on a roll with the newspaper crossword puzzle!

i ran into aaron and colin as i was heading off to see ed for a piano lesson (which never transpired because my computer clock is half an hour late, and sooooo....you know what happens) and i sooo miss them! colin was hilarious! he had just finished his last exam so he was really letting loose! he showed us how to do a grande plie, picture colin with his ass sticking in the air, and you driving by! hahahaha!!!

i'm now exhausted from my productive day, and yay! tomorrow...kensington here i come!

Sunday, December 14, 2003

drunk people do some funny shit. i went with faye to her CIBC dinner party yesterday and one of her co-workers, jimmy, got plastered! it was interesting because i don't think i've ever witnessed anyone that drunk before (because i'm usually the really drunk person...hahahaha) and man, i felt bad for the poor kid. we finished 4 bottles of wine at our table, and jimmy finished almost 2 himself. AND THEN HE PUKED IT ALL UP... in the washroom! did i mention he's also asian? good times!

tomorrow is george's birthday and i totally forgot! thank goodness i spoke to anna! otherwise it would have all been for naught! ;p crap, it just means i have some serious christmas shopping to do tomorrow! AND IT'S SNOWING!!!! which means walking outside will be hazardous! which really sucks because i have to go buy tickets to see princess di's dresses for my mom, and my boots have holes in them. hahaha! ok, maybe not too much fun for me...

ooooh, the funniest thing happened during my exam yesterday. i was writing my bioethics exam in lash miller, and that room is very airy and every little thing can be heard. well, anyway, i was writing the exam when someone let out the biggest stomach fart!!! at first i thought it was me! and then my T.A. sheepishly says "oops, sorry! i had a big lunch!" hahahaha, it was priceless!

edit

i just finished watching "queer eye for the straight guy", and today's episode was one of the most emotional ones i've seen. the guy, alan, basically screwed up everything, from wiping sweat on a towel that he used on food, to breaking a nice glass, to fixing really really strong drinks for the parent...man, i felt for him, but it was really good! i love watching this show, carsen kills me! so flamboyantly gay! i love it! but my favorite guy is jai, i think he waxes his legs! whooo!

colorless green ideas sleep furiously

it's 11:25pm, and i haven't really studied since i came home. which is what henry predicted but i digress. (btw, i put that in there to make henry feel special)

i just had some hashbrowns and i'm not feeling too good about them. oooooh....

and i'm sooooo tired, so i'm going to sleep, even though i haven't finished those questions, oh well.

Wednesday, December 10, 2003

hmmm. i just had a thought....I DON'T WANNA WRITE ANY MORE EXAMS!!!! i don't care if the prof gave us the questions already, i don't want to be sitting in a goddamn library making my bum flat (however, i guess i'd be doing the same thing at work anyway) i think i've mentally gone on vacation already and that's not a good thing.

so i'm not going blind, although my eyes are bad...but my eye doctor freaked me out saying stuff how because my perscription is so high, she wants me to do an eye dilation test to see if there's any tearing in the retina and if so, need surgery blah blah blah....freaked me out...and then all for nothing. and then after, mom was clutching my arm to make sure i could walk properly (i could see FINE...my pupils were just really really large) and then she told me not to strain my eyes looking at the clothing at urban planet (oh right, my eye doctor's office is at the promenade mall, and we parked outside of urban planet, which was why we were walking through it) hhahahah, very funny mom.

"how to deal" with mandy moore is a cheese movie. but it's great, i feel like it reflects my life, job well done.

i'm tired. i have work tomorrow, and i'm contemplating if i should work or study...hmmmm....money or library?

???

Sunday, December 07, 2003

i FINALLY saw "pirates of the caribbean", and i have to say that it is one of the BEST movies i have ever seen! now i really know why everyone is in love with orlando bloom, i fell in love with his character, he's so smart, yet so dumb...hahahahaha and johnny depp is REALLY good as this captain....AND the comic relief...

ames and i went out to rent the dvd earlier this evening, and the wind was sooooo freezing cold that we stopped off at starbucks for some coffee and then headed over to pizza pizza for a box of pizza (and ringalos) to bring home. and plus dad bought some bacardi breezers for last night's dinner guests, and well, they didn't have any, so i helped myself to one...and WHOOOOO.....it's a good thing i don't drink often! ;p

last night's hockey game was AMAZING! this is one of those games where you're proud to be smc! our team tied with vic in the last 20 secs of the third period, and then scored the winning goal 5 secs into overtime! i was so afraid we were going to lose! it was the italians that kept us going...mainly matt di giovanni...and there were quite a few people there that i hadn't seen in awhile too...like duane rendle was there and i congratulated him on his wife being pregnant...awwww...and greg di tommaso and his buddys were drinking beer and being all too rowdy, quite a lot of fun!

well, i think i'll watch pirates again....

Friday, December 05, 2003

WOW

i'm done. no not really, i still have one more exam next friday, but that will be a BREEZE compared to all i've done already. the food lady at the gerstein cafeteria knows me now, and somehow i don't think that's really a good thing. that's right, gerstein is one of the best places to study at u of t, except, unfortunately, most everyone knows that too. if i want a good spot (ie. next to a window) then i have to be at the library latest by 10am. otherwise you get shit spots. they really fill up fast.

i'm so bloody pissed at my TA for ant204. this is the TA for that tutorial i'm always bitching about....the one that's from 8-9pm on wednesday nights. i think she hates me. i got a paper back, and when i'm reading the comments (which isn't very much), i get the impression that i did well....until i see the mark...and it just BLOWS the mind away. i guess i have to go "see" my TA. F***ing BITCH.

but now that i'm finished with this hellish week, i'm am SOOOO ready to party...beginning with the SMC vs. VIC hockey game tomorrow night!

HIDE THE RUM AND VODKA!!! ;p

someone PLEASE SHOOT ME NOW!

i still have another exam tomorrow...have i started studying for it? NO! why? because i just finished one now, and i need to do some sort of mental dump before filling it with new junk. unfortunately, i don't have time for that, and so now i think i'm just procrastinating from starting my studying....dun dun dunnnnn...oh man, i'm psycho! but then, we also knew that, didn't we?

after my test tomorrow, i have rehearsal and then i need to start my paper that was due....today...hahahahaha...oh dear, and work wants me in on thursday too....

did i mention i had coffee? heeeeheee. and ames is playing nicklebacks' "someday" and it's making me sad. ooohh...

anyway, enough procrastinating...tough out 2 more days!

well, until i start preparing for my exam next friday...

Friday, November 28, 2003

what day is it today? friday? you'd think i'd be happy that it's friday...but i'm NOT!
i don't want to work this weekend! it's bad enough that i have to START studying for my tests, but now i also have a full day of teaching...and that is a big drainer too!

i overslept this morning, and as a result, i'm sooo behind. i have still have to finish one last essay for tuesday but i'm soo tired of writing essays...now i know why people want to plagarize! the only good thing about this last essay is that it's very interesting and so i get into the material, the bad thing is that i'm lazy!

okok, stop procrastinating! *head banging on desk*
i'm going out to buy black hair dye to cover my white hairs...

Wednesday, November 26, 2003

i'm soooo screwed....soooooooo screwed....i'm overstimulated on a very very high caffeine kick, but i've run out of ideas on what to say/write. it doesn't help that i don't know anything and that i'm tired. oh wait, i can't sleep...

i have half my paper done, but it makes absolutely NO SENSE. a mess of mumble jumble...although, at least the prof will know that i couldn't have plagarized anything!

i feel like i'm drunk!

Tuesday, November 25, 2003

today was any researchers worst nightmare...ok, YESTERDAY...

the gist of it....lost my research papers, had a freaking heart attack because the paper was due TODAY, went to see my prof, gained an extension until friday (becuase i had to go back to robarts and RE-photocopy my lost research paper, to re-read and make notes), and then got an email from mark sutherland an hour before my class saying how i had left all my research papers after rehearsal last night and if i was looking for them, they're in his mailbox...*sigh*

so now i have double copies of my research, i'm $5 poorer, AND i have been dubbed a "boofhead"

no time to worry about that...must begin bioethic paper tomorrow morning!

Saturday, November 15, 2003

i'm soooooo happy!

i haven't seen tanaks, faywood, cha and corona in the LONGEST TIME! and we've been playing catchup since we got to kingston last night. three of us split a pitcher of canadian beer (and it was GROSS), but we got nicely buzzed and went dancing at AJ's.
after AJ's, we went and broke into cha's house to steal some blankets, and we made sooo much noise giggling that we got caught! ;p
the cha and corona drama seems to have subsided and they are now going to see kill bill. this is sooooo crazy fun!

i thought there were no asian people in queens, but we found this place where it's full of asian people. i was wrong...it's like the sid smith hanger!

Thursday, November 13, 2003

why the drama? why? WHY?!?!?!?!

i'm sooo very tired....of both the drama and because it's late.

Tuesday, November 11, 2003

i wish all courses are like JAL253. i got my test back today...and guess what?

100%

(i thought it would better in a line by itself)
that's amazingly awesome! i can't believe that i did better then des! (who did just as well, she and i had a huge debate on the last question, and i obviously came out victorious)

school is killing me. why am i in school if it is to be the death of me? that is the paradox that is currently bugging me. please let me know if have the answer.
i have 4 papers due within the month, and then the first week of december i'll have 2 midterms and 2 finals. i don't know what do first, i wish everything would magically do itself...unfortunately...no.

tomorrow is bonding night with the musical cast: blood brothers. they're going somewhere like just desserts! i think i might stop by for some dessert....mmmm....dessert....
also, the italian pasta and wine is thursday night, and since i'm half-italian (;p), i think i might go for some free food! and then on friday, i'll be off to queens with faye and karina. now THAT will be some good times!

i got my free flu shot at the clinic in the koffler centre today with immanuel and i'm hoping that i don't get sick from it, otherwise it would really be a downer for queens. i AM feeling tired, although i don't think that's the actual flu thingy, but maybe cuz i haven't had my beauty sleep. maybe i should go sleep....AFTER gilmore girls! hahaha.

Friday, November 07, 2003

so apparently people aren't able to see those pictures because my website keeps going over the bandwidth? i don't know what that is. but i've cleaned up the page by deleting a lot of old/less flattering pics...heehee, i hope everyone can see the pics now.

on another note: i hate robarts with a passion. i think my goal in life is to be able to kick that building to the ground. (yeh right, like that will ever happen) every time i go there, i can never get anything good out of it. none of the books i want is ever there. yuck.

i made $30 stuffing envelopes today, $30 labeling and putting stamps on yesterday, and i've discovered my love for radiohead!

Monday, November 03, 2003

proposal...DONE! whoo! i spent a whole total of 5 hrs on it, and handed it in! at least it's not late.

also...pics are up!

enjoy!

THE MOST INSANE HALLOWEEN PARTY EVER!

hello. for all my lovely and caring friends out there, i AM alive and well. although i was pretty much hungover for most of the day! ;p

we looking fucking fantastic last night! we all got ready at kirsten's and then the 6 pirate girls trooped over to sorbara and as anna described it, we looked like we came out of a movie or something and there should have been music playing in the background. i promise promise that the pictures will be up soon, i just need to finish the rest of the roll of film. on that note: i also i have pics from the game last night but i'm too lazy to scan them in...hahaha

anyway, back to last night...basically, it was a great night, but it included too much alcohol consumption (i know it sounds stupid but when you're in the mood and atmosphere, you forget how much you drink UNTIL you start puking....) and not enough water, in FACT, the bar ran out of cups and they didn't have any water...which eventually drove me to drink the tap water from the washroom!

in the end, i was pretty much wasted and i would like to thank BOTH aaron's for looking out for me. it was pretty funny actually, aaron (gay aaron) is the skinniest and sweetest guy ever, and he was also drunk out of his ass, but he was THREATENING the OTHER aaron (webster) that if he didn't watch out for me, or didn't make sure i got home alright, he'd get him...which was soooo sweet, but really, he didn't have to do that cuz webster would have done it anyway!

kirsten and the others went to frans after the party, but at that point i was in NO condition to go anywhere but rez, and when we got there, gabe (the porter) was nice enough to open up the cafeteria so i could have 5 glasses of water, and then i stole kirsten's bed. har har!

now, off to give treats to the trick/treaters!

Thursday, October 30, 2003

attention everyone...please look at the time. i JUST got home. heh heh

a brief recap of this day:

went to see the raptors home opener....AND THEY WON!!!!! WHOOO HOOOOOO!!!!!! 90-87...what an intense and exciting game! i swear that i must have had multiple heart attacks in the last 15 seconds, and they WERE the longest 15 seconds of my entire 21 yr old life. and it was great because i went with a whole bunch of people that i haven't seen in the longest time (which isn't saying much...i have really been seeing anyone other then ppl in my class!) 3rd floor sorbara boys, kirsten, lauren, and the st. joe's gang.

the best was AFTER the game and how i was HOPING to get home relatively early because i have to work in the morning (oops, i guess that won't be happening) and i was getting a ride home from simone's father, but her father's friend insisted on taking us out for drinks....MARTINI'S!!!! it was my first martini ever...and it was soooo good! we went to this bar (?) called jump, and the father's friend schmoozed with everyone there! what a suave guy! smooth operator!

anyway, now i need to get some much needed rest as tomorrow is a no sleep day! hahahaha!!! ;p

Sunday, October 26, 2003

what i did this weekend:

work
sleep
eat
watch sex and the city, queer eye for the straight guy....and charlie's angels 2 (what an AWFUL movie)
sleep
eat (sushi!)
sleep
see aaron for bbtea
rehearsal for blood brothers
eat
...
damn, this is horrible! i have done no work....ok, no that's a lie, i did my readings for my classes, but i've been procrastinating horribly on my proposal...*insert whine here* "i don't wanna do it!" maybe later....heh heh YEH RIGHT.

went to visit kirsten after rehearsal, she was making our costumes, and the sleeves are soooo big! she could wrap the material all around me like a dress! btw, the costumes look like they'll be kickass, i just have to find time to go over there to have my skirt made. AH.

basketball game wednesday night, and halloween party thursday night...

someones gonna let loose. ;p

Friday, October 24, 2003

whoa...crazy week!
i had that presentation on monday night, and it was horrible! there were 7 presentations that night, and of course i had to go LAST! maryanne and i were just ready to burst from stress, i think that was the worst class ever, we couldn't concentrate on ANYTHING the other students were saying! and now i have to work on a 6 page proposal for monday and i haven't really started any research. GAH!

the test on tuesday was a joke. des and i spent 2 mins thinking "WHAT?!?!? is this test a joke?" and then 3 mins later, our test was done. if only all our tests at u of t could be like this.

i went to the tell el-masha'la info session yesterday b/c i wanted to see if i could apply to go to egypt for the summer. but after THAT, i don't think i want to go. firstly, there's so many other people there (about a hundred) and they're only taking 20 people. also, the weather at the time of the excavation will be up to 45 degrees, not including humidity. the living conditions will be SPARSE, and i'm such a city girl (not that i couldn't live sparingly if i had to, i just like my comforts!) of course, i'd be giving up a great opportunity to go and dig some burials that the group discovered last year, and i think that would be soooo cool!

ooooh, i went to the gap for the first time since i quit last winter yesterday, and WHO did i have to see when i'm in there? yah, that's right, you ALL know who. he's not even worth mentioning here, but it was sooo awkward and i wanted to run away, but he wanted to hug me, so i hugged him and THEN ran away. luckily, i was with avril and she and i browsed for a bit, but there was nothing nice there (well, i was there to buy a purse but there were no nice ones left) and so we left and i bought a pair of track pants from jacob! yay jacob! and it felt sooo nice to just shop! i haven't gone shopping in the longest time, haven't the time. plus i didn't have the $$$.

ugh...i want to just sit and do absolutely nothing. however, i seemed to have found myself playing for a musical and now i need to practice for the rehearsals AND i need to work on that proposal.

i AM marilyn monroe.

Saturday, October 18, 2003

ok, i lied. i told flo i wasn't going to blog because i didn't have any time...and then i decided to blog. oops.

but to blog about what? RIGHT....about nothing...about all the work i have to do yet instead i'm doing THIS. hmmm...where to begin? well. i was supposed to have finished organizing my notes for my presentation monday (ok, it looks like i'm a nerd and have it done early, but in all actuality, i have to meet up with my presentation partner TOMORROW and it would look AWFUL if i didn't have my end of the work done when hers is done...comprende?) but i'm just wayyyyyy too tired. at least i finished the upcoming readings for social/cultural anthro....

i have work tomorrow until the afternoon, and then i'm thinking of doing a step class before meeting up with maryanne...which is cool, except it's a level 4 step class and i've only ever done level 1 step classes, so i'm wondering who's the trooper in this situation?

oooh, did i mention i have a test on tuesday? that's right....i have a test on tuesday and i really should get cracking on the studying...except that it's supposed to be a really easy test...35 T/F and they're supposed to be really intuitive and you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right or wrong, so really, you don't have to study and do absolutely amazing on it. hmmm...what a concept...

why else am i tired? because i was up at 7am this morning so that i could be downtown for work at 9am...what's that? i don't teach that early in the morning downtown? i know. hahahahahahahah....HAHAHAHAHAHAHA....looks like someone's got a NEW job...now it means i'll have less time then ever to do nothing. i'll be working two jobs, 4 classes (for now...but not if you count music history, which i haven't even started studying for and i really really should...), AND a social life. it's a really good thing that i don't have a significant other to lavish my lack of attention on, otherwise i'd have to end my life. and that would be so wrong.

but now that my eyelids are involuntarily closing while i'm typing...it's my cue to end my misery now. NOW.

bedtime!

Tuesday, October 14, 2003

i nearly blacked out during my step class in the gym today. scariest feeling i've ever felt. i was sooo tired, but i've never not finished a class before and i didn't think it was anything, so the trooper that i was, i tried to continue on. but by the end of the routine, i was seeing spots...and then it got sooo much that i couldn't see the instructor anymore, and then all i could think to myself was "don't pass out, or throw up....that would be soooo embarrassing!" so i just left the class early and sat myself down to relax. yeh yeh, i know, i'm crazy, flo's told me a million times. ahahahah... but i'm all good now...

now that i've done crap all this weekend, and i'm trying to catch up. unfortunately the weather is anything but nice, and i've got this nice little migraine going on in my head. sigh. oh well. that's all

i can't believe it's saturday and that mom's coming home tomorrooooowwwww....damn! i didn't have nearly enough time to wreak havoc with the car! hahahaha.

grandma's home for a couple of days too. the poor dear. she doesn't get enough baths because the nurses are so busy (what kinda of fucking excuse is that!?!?!?!?) and the first thing she asks to eat is veggies...why? because they don't give vegetables there!!!! WTF?!?!?!?! like seriously, shouldn't these ppl know that older ppl NEED to have enough vegetables for their systems so they can do their #2?!?!? geez! even i know that! well, all i can say is that for the duration of her homestay, she can have as much sleep and veggies as she wants. and i think she showered already. damn transit system...

oh another note...thursday night's graffiti was KICKASS! after downing 3 rum and cokes as soon as i got there (2 free drink tickets at the door, plus i obtained one from JP after he dared me to chug one of them) i was busting out the moves!!! hahaha, i remember tee pointing at me and laughing, saying..."miao's DRUNK!!!" hahahaha. i had this little asian frosh kid following me around the whole evening like a puppy dog...that i didn't really appreciate....ESPECIALLY b/c he's a) asian, b) shorter then me, c) younger then me, d) did i mention he was asian? and e) he's smc. not that i have anything against smc, it's just that at this point in my university career, smc ppl are just way tooo much like family...and you don't date family ppl. i don't care...that's my rule and i'm sticking to it.

i forgot to mention that elections were that day and after counting the ballots are winners are...carlo, avril, melissa, annamaria, and kat! avril almost got thrown over the balcony. this dude was drunk and avril wanted a picture with him, and he picked her up for the photo shot, but after he swung her really really close to the edge of the balcony (we were at the top of ice lounge) and she and i were like "OMG!"...and then he put her down and this bouncer guy came up to him, and was like "yo, that was NOT cool, you made my bouncer friend downstairs mad" and we looked over the railing and there was this BIG guy staring up at us, wearing a leather jacket and black glasses, and a scowl...and the other bouncer escorted the drunk guy out. ooops....

wrote an email to liz. that girl kills me...survived an earthquake and is now taking karate lessons!!!! i told her to take pictures and to send them to us so we can see her in a karate outfit!

but i really should catch up on some much need to do readings...especially since i didn't go out tonight like i was supposed toooooo.....

i HATE my ant204Y1 8-9pm tutorial class. i hate it with a passion....the people in it are very very self-rightous (I KNOW EVERYTHING....) and snobby (if their noses were turned up any higher, a hail droplet could clog it), it boring, useless, and worst of all, there are people in that class that remind me off people that i don't want be reminded of. I HATE that class. oh, and it's late at night and i'm hungry.
hey hey! guess where i am? yup, georges room. hahaha. i just finished my first test of the year, PHL281. was a funny course. the professor gave us two questions last week, and then he told us that he was going to ask one of those two questions today, AND the test is only 5% so if you screw up, it's ok, you can still get 95%. hahahaha. well, unless you wanted 98%, then you're screwed. ahhhh...sometimes i kill myself!

so now that this test is done, i technically could do nothing for the next two weeks! however, me being the goody-two-shoes... (NOT!!!) i'll be trying to get some essays and assignments out of the way for the next two months. that's cuz the first week of december is my hell week. Three tests in three days, plus an assignment, but we'll worry about the assignment later.

nothing else of utter importance, so i guess that's it for now.

so i did the cibc run for the cure, and it was just awesome! there were soooo many people out running/jogging/walking...with dogs and children and everything! the weather was nice and sunny, and mildly cold...just right! the whole experience of running with people is great, and i haven't really gotten off the kick i got out of doing this. i'm thinking of doing a marathon in 2 weeks, wouldn't that be fun?

also, we're doing fine considering grandma's gone, and mom's in australia. mom pulled a me. she hasn't called yet and dad was like "why hasn't she called?" , and it's just luck that i talk to lachlan and he said everything is fine, otherwise we'd all be freaking out and thinking that she forgot to board at honolulu and is stuck in the states somewhere! wouldn't that be an adventure?

i feel like i haven't done any work this weekend...maybe a little bit, but not as much as i would have liked. a combination of procrastination, no mom around my back (well, not that she really does that anymore), and i'm still sick. i've been sick since wednesday, shouldn't this cold be over already? it's more of a annoyance then anything else. it really does make me feel sluggish and not wanting to do work. however, i must say that it's aaron that keeps me going. that boy is a workaholic, and as he's telling me all the essays he's written, and the readings he's done, i'm like....i should do some work too! hahaha.

sooooo......i should do some work.
